I had the pleasure of experiencing Odetta
some thirty odd years ago as a freshman in college.....She was amazing! She was real! She sang from her heart and touched my soul! It was the first concert that I hadn't even smoked a joint!
I left there that night with a woman I met and swam naked with her, the mother of my first child. We fell in love that night and remain united; separated by the great divider, death. I loved her that night and I love her still....
Odetta brought us together and I cannot listen to her sing 'Battle Hymn of the Republic' with weeping.....
They were and are both amazing women....................
