I admit I was never much of a Chris Cornell fan. I guess 'grunge' although I loathe that word, was the music of my teen/early 20s, but I could never get into Soundgarden. I liked the songs ok, but they were never a favorite.
I'm glad I did get to see them live a couple weeks ago.
And even though I was never really a fan, I really felt it when I heard he had died. I even cried a bit off and on, and have felt numb since.
Yesterday me and my kids were having lunch and we were talking wondering who was going to be next. Neil Young's name was mentioned. Someone else,oh Charles Manson.
So when I heard the news today about Gregg Allman I thought well I guess it was him.
Completely sad. We've already lost too many wonderful talented people this year.
Well, he certainly lived the rock 'n' roll life, didn't he? I guess the real surprise is that he lived as long as he did. Time to go and play Jessica - if my fingers are still up to it.
You said others were more deserving;
I said the world was undeserving;
You said you were no angel;
I said you lied.
Today the world mourns because I was right all along.
