Damn! And he was funny, too.

I knew this was coming--he'd had heart problems before--but DAMN that's not good news. We needed his acidity and I would have loved to hear what he had to say about the new Administration, whoever it ended up being.

Shit. :( :( :(

RIP, comrade; you made my teen years a lot better.

The world will have a unique void...

acidity, profanity, and sometimes just DEAD ON with commentary

he will be missed. :(

So long George--you were one funny dude. :(

And you lived to hear most of the seven words said on television. :D

I feel like I want to say seven foul words. Damn. Maybe he'll come back to us from the future, as he did for Bill and Ted?

:(

Party on, Dude.

He was also famous for deciding not to use dirty words anymore-- and remaining funny.

We really need him, I hope he comes back. :rose:

oh wow :( He was one of the first comedians I saw when i got old enough to be allowed to hear stuff like that.

George made the world a better place. I can think of no greater legacy save this... he did it while making people laugh.

I'll miss you, dude. :rose:

Oh no. :(

I remember FOFLMAO when he first appeared back in he 1960s. Radio stations were playing "Al Sleet, the Hippy Dippy Weatherman." He was cool and chic yet a bit goofy and somehow political even though he wasn't then (I guess everything was political then).

RIP, George. :rose:

Soviet Era Condom

Not too many comedians get their names on a Supreme Court Decision... One of the real groundbreakers....

and a very, very, funny guy.

He lived a full life...... He knows where he's going now and If there's the most incredibly remote possibility that there's a heaven and a God, George Carlin just out-witted God and talked his way into the pearly gates....

One of the funniest ever. His comentary on society and politics was even better than the jokes!

Damn!

:rose:

This makes me very sad. Carlin was an original who ranked up there with the old vaudville greats. :(

The Kennedy Center announced last week that he was going to receive the Mark Twain Prize for Humor this fall. In the press release, they quoted him as saying, "Thank you, Mark Twain. Please have your people call my people." At least he learned that he was going to get the award. What a great loss to humor.
