They comprised 65 of the 92 dead of yesterday's Russian plane crash.

Byron's favorite wake up and get moving piece was their version of the Hymn of the USSR aka Russian National Anthem

It's a bit hard to lull around doing nothing after you had heard that.

It's a great pity. Somehow, I doubt it was a terrorist attack.

They are considering technical problems or pilot error.

It was a fucking Tu-154, a 50-year-old design scheduled to be removed from service in 2016. They tend to crash a lot because they're abused a lot. "Since 1968 there have been 39 fatal incidents involving the Tu-154..." It's like the AK-47 version of a Boeing 707 - tough but dated. Aeroflot (USSR airline) used to give little medals to debarking passengers... because they survived the flight. (Mine is safely stashed away.)

No terrorists needed to down a Tu-154. Just wait long enough and it will crash.

You couldn't pay me enough to fly in a Russian aircraft.

Being a Russian military flight, I'm doubting terrorism. Corruption, incompetence and cronyism but not terrorism.

I remember how Aeroflot planes used to sound like a bucket of bolts barely holding together.

You've flown Aeroflot?! You're one brave chickie! What's next going to sign up to be an astronaut? :)

oh no, I didn't! I maybe brave but I am not suicidal.
Back in the cold war days, I would hear them taxi by in Shannon's airport.
You couldn't not hear them!
