Tara had always been a hard worker. She also had a sense of justice that was second to none, especially after her parents had been murdered by the Red Dawn in a surprise attack on a transportation vessel. She knew after that event that she would now stop until they were destroyed.

She had risen through the ranks quickly, using that drive to get herself into important positions. That day, she was meeting with a man who might very well be able to help her with her mission. Walking down the hallway with papers in her hands, she noticed a man sitting outside her office.

"Scott?" She asked as she extended her hand. "I'm Tara. Let's step into my office where we can talk in private."

"I've already gotten my orders." Tara said as she moved to take a seat at her desk, laying the files in her arms out before her.

She glanced up at Scott as he placed the disk on her desk and asked her what she knew about Red Dawn. Many had asked her what her qualifications were and she couldn't fault them. A person could not be too careful these days, especially when it came to transfer of sensitive information.

"My parents were killed by a cell. Trust me when I say that I have no love for the bastards. I wish to wipe them off this earth if I possibly can."

"Do you really believe that being female in a place like that bothers me?" Tara asked, looking at the strange man that seemed a little nervous. "It is the least of my worries. One person in the entire scheme of this horrible situation does not matter much. If I have been called to service, then I've been called to service."

Tara had a deep sense of duty to those that she served. She would do whatever was asked of her in the hopes that one day this war would be over with and they could return to the peace that they had known so many years ago.

Tara cocked her head to one side as the man in front of her seemed to focus on her looks above all. Did he think that she couldn't do this mission because her looks put her in danger? No one had ever mentioned the fact that she was beautiful or that it might hinder the success of something. She had never really thought about it. All the way through basic training and her promotions. She had been promoted based on her merit. She clawed her way to the top because that was where she wanted to be.

When the hour was up, Tara was packed with her sack at her feet, waiting for Scott to reappear at the bay. When she saw him walking down the hallway, she picked up her sack and looked at him as he drew close.

"Let's get one thing straight. I'm not weak and I can take care of myself. I don't need someone to protect me the entire way." She said as she stared at him.

Tara watched as he moved past her and into the shuttle. She wanted to reprimand him and tell him that he was wrong about her. She had gotten to where she was through hard work and sacrifice. She wasn't a wilting violet. She could hold her own on a sparring mat and in the field with a gun. Perhaps kicking his ass would show him that.

She said nothing more as she moved into the shuttle behind him, buckling herself in and waiting for him to get them going.

"Well, I'll just have to see if you can redeem yourself from being an asshole because that is exactly what you look like right now." Tara said bluntly as he tried to make her understand why he was being so stand offish. "I can handle a group of horny men that haven't seen a woman in years. Trust me on that. I didn't get this job based on my looks. I do have a brain and I know how to use it."

Tara watched as Scott walked away. She had no idea why he was acting the way that he was towards her. It wasn't as if she had simply been given her position because of the way that she looked. It had taken a lot of blood sweat and tears on her behalf to get to that position and use her abilities for good instead of evil.

She refused to let him think that he was better than her just because he was a man and she was a woman. She refused to fight. It wouldn't do to kick his ass and then have him out of commission for what was about to be a very tough mission. Instead, Tara made her way to the mess hall to make a nice lunch for herself. Food would fill her belly and make her feel better about the strange situation that she had found herself in.
