A COMING PARTIAL GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN? AND JUST WHO WILL GET THE BLAME?

Bush and the Democrats are at odds over the next budget. Simply put, the Democrats want to spend more money that Bush does. This is sort of the reverse of the situation when the Republicans were in control of the Congress and the Democrat (Clinton) was in the White House. Then we had the president wanting to spend more than congress.

OK --- here’s the bet. When Clinton the Democrat and the Republican controlled congress reached an impasse, Clinton vetoed their budget and portions of the government shut down. The Democrats and Clinton blamed it on the Republicans and the media went along.

Now we’re facing the reverse situation. It may be Bush the Republican vetoing a budget inflated by a congress where Democrats hold much more power than they did five years ago. If Bush vetoes a budget bill, and some portions of the government shut down, the Democrats will blame it on … the Republican president, Bush.

The process is simple. If a Democratic president vetoes an appropriations bill and parts of the government shut down for a few days … it’s the fault of Congress. If a Republican president vetoes an appropriations bill and parts of the government shut down for a few days … it’s the fault of the president.

Watch and see if I have called this one correctly.

complete lie

Bush wants to blow vast sums on a missile system that patently does not and will not work for decades. There's no money for that. That's the first battleground. And the education thing is also without funding, due to the budget blowout and revenue shortfall, all Bush's job.
