Spring is starting to slip from under the shadows of winter here,,, my yard is covered with waves of yellow and purple crocus today,,, some in full bloom and some still budding.

Surely to goodness this is a dependable sign that spring can't be far away?

I, for one can't wait to feel those spring time warm breezes,,, we were a bust for snow, ( Dallas had more snow than we did) but it has been bitterly cold most of the winter,,, and I am ready for some warmth and color provided by Mom Nature

The sun is shining, the rose jasmine in my front yard is going berserk, and JP is in a much better mood -- he bagged a bird this morning and is, presumably, plucking it as I type.

Spring has sprung. :D

I love spring. My tulips are coming up already :)

FUCK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We got about a fucking foot of very heavy white stuff last night and spring is at least two months away here.

So FUCK YOU ALL.

I leave you with the thought that it is only warmer there because you are that much closer to HELL!

;)

Dante's vision of hell was that the very lowest ring was ice. The fiery pit vision derives, I believe, from Zoroastrianism.

I suppose it depends on which version of hell you are most comfortable with.

I like the hot one myself. ;)

Here in Florida, it's been 80+ degrees for a month.

Much harder to tell when spring is arriving. Here are some sure signs:

- The senior citizens are in full bloom. Impossible to find parking near a Walgreen's or an Eckerd's or any place that sells bagels.

- Clueless students from the north show up for Spring Break in Fort Lauderdale, not realizing it's been a decade since that was a cool place to go for Spring Break.

- Your apartment complex turns off the heater in the heated pool and it drops back below body temperature.

- Pitchers & Catchers report to spring training and are shortly arrested for drunk driving and molesting the local 16 year olds.

Ahhhh...Spring.

Are you TRYIN' to make me throw a tantrum?!?!?!?!?!?;)

you guys are so mean! Its only 35 degrees out who knows about the wind chill!

Creamy Lady... I have to ask, but am afraid... who is JP and why does his bagging a bird and devouring it seem to make a sweet, tender lady such as yourself happy?

JP is the cat who shares our house, er, runs the house. He is a Mighty Hunter.

I've nothing against birds in the abstract. However, I object strenuously to the nasty, noisy, sloppy avians who perch in the tree and wires over my car. Thinning out the population helps.

Also, in addition to the bird this morning, he also bagged a rat. Go, JP!

Whew. You had me a bit worried there. Thought maybe you had a new guy with some nasty habits.

Dear god, I would pay to see that! ;)

Expertise, darling, was that fuck you an offer? :D

My Grandpaw taught me ...

... spring is not here till the dogwoods bloom. I've never found this to be an inaccurate gauge of the arrival of spring.

No it was pure unadulterated venting at those more latitudinally advantaged than I.

I'll just listen to my Buffet CD's and pine for a few days of snorkeling and rum in Sosua or Montego Bay.
