He was really annoying, and I think he even won an award for the most annoying person on TV - but he was a total institution. I don't watch Countdown all that much, but it won't be the same without him. I'll definitely miss him.

Carol Vorderman is also a very talented mathematician. I'm sure she could do mathematical stuff, or go and present a show of her own.

They can't do Coutndown without Twice Nightly Whitely. It just wouldn't work.
