That was my brother, who was born and died on the same day: March 7, 1973. I never got to know him. He was hydrocephalic.

Aww. :rose:

He would have been... 33?

Blessings to you, Sev, for remembering him... it's how we live on...

Thank you, folks. Yes, he would have been 33 yesterday. If he had lived, I would have 2 brothers, as well as a sister. Unfortunately, my parents didn't quite know that my mother had hypothyroidism at the time. That was probably a factor in his death and disease.

Its so sweet of you to take the time to remember him. It gives me hope for my sons and daughter. They had an older brother that was born August 25, 1996, and died September 25, 1996. He was born with a diaphragmatic hernia and died a month later from other related complications. His brothers know about him and have see pictures. We have discussed him, why he died and how old he would be. The boys are 8 & 7 and my daughter is 3. I also wear his birthstone bootie on a necklace with theirs so they see that too. I am sorry for your loss but gratified by your chosen form of remembrance.

Well, it is the least that I can do. I believe in venerating the memory of one's ancestors and any dead relatives. The thing about family is that it is a part of you in a way that people not of your blood cannot be. You have the same origins, the same source, the same blood.

Oh, and I am sorry for your loss as well. :rose:

Once again, thank you people! I sometimes wonder what he would have been like, and if he would have done something great. The worst thing about death is that it kills potential with life. Any good that a person might have done dies with him or her.
I would have liked to have known him as a person, even if he had been mentally retarded, as he might well have been. Retardation does not prevent a person from contributing something.

Hey sweets, that is very beautiful to keep his memory alive. I would have had two brothers as well, they died at birth....they are my guardian angels. :rose:

Thanks, Abstruse. My condolences to you, too, then. :rose:

My condolences Sev!

My granddaughter was born with probably the most serious of congenital heart defect known to man, tetology of faulot. She survivied only because of the technological advancements made in the 5 years prior to her birth in 1994. She is now Twelve having under gone 5 open heart surgeries in her short life. I thank god every day that she is still with us.

I am glad to see you have not forgotten and wish you well.
