Rhyme

There are very few times when I write poetry that it doesn't rhyme. I don't know why, it isn't a conscious effort, it just happens.

I love free verse, just letting the bits of my mind fill the page, but that is hard for me. I can write it or was able to once.

To be honest the last poem I wrote was on this board last night. Sort of out of practice and disconnected.

Hi dear and welcome to the Poetry Forum (sorry if you've been welcomed before but heck, sometimes ya just needs more eh )

rhyming or not happens to me too. i don't tend to sit and force rhymes, they often just happen. i find more that alliteration tends to pour in ridiculous piles from the end of my pen.

for me, giving myself time to just sit each day and write, has helped. it's helped me to get used to letting the words flow from my pen. it's helped me to learn how to make things sound better than before. sure i've a long way to go, but even i can see improvement since my first poem.
