Just for fun..was wondering whether any of the characters in movies like Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara in 'Gone With the Wind', or in books eg Heathcliff in 'Wuthering Heights' could be considered Doms or subs by their behaviour patterns as filmed/written ?

Alternatively..mmmm.. anyone in movies/books/plays etc past or present that you would just lurve to have a crack at ??

Mine include (past) Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Tyrone Power (er I was reared on old movies, my parents are old movie mad :) )
(present) singer Robbie Williams, George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Drew Barrymore (would happily lick her bum if she desired it all day)

This is gonna sound so dumb, but Vin Diesel in Pitch Black was about as Sadistic/Dom as i'd seen on the screen in a while (until i saw Blue Velvet; yes, i am a recent viewer of the film and ai yi yi *mouth waters*)

But, Vin Diesel's voice, combined with that cold, calculated style and that little scene where he flipped the female captain onto the ground and straddled her demanding an answer to a question ... *swoons*

ok, ok. will stop drooling on the thread.

What movies got me all gooey?

GI Jane. Demi Moore as uber boy. Boy did that movie spin my head around. I don't know whether I wanted to be her or fuck her, but it sure worked for me.

Fight Club, of course, it's perverse M on M weird T driven stuff was hot, for me. Ed Norton as bottom, Brad Pitt as a very scary Top, I buy it.

Androgynes Hepburn, Deitrich, Garbo, ice princess Bergman, directrix Ida Lupino, any of the strong femmes of the pre-code whoop ass film era could get me to bend a knee. They don't make femmes like they used to.

this will sound awful, but any movie where there's a controlling, domineering male abusing his female mate, will get my juices going. one of my fave examples of this would be Mark Wahlberg in "fear"...he was just SO in control, and so prone to violence...i can barely watch that movie without creaming all over myself.

another good one is the man who played jennifer lopez's husband in "enough"...that line where he says, "i make the money. i make the rules", and where he's like, "what, i can't hit you?" and she says, "no, you can't hit me" and he proceeds to punch her in the face which knocks her to the floor...and then he stands over her crumpled form and says, "what, you wanna fight? i'm a man, sweetie, it'd be no contest." just that simple explanation..."i'm a man"....man it gave me goosebumps.

as for actors in general that i like, russell crowe is a major one. the way he's always getting into brawls over the silliest little thing.

One of my favorite movies that just gets me all hot and bothered on so many levels is Dangerous Liaisons with Glenn Close, Michelle Pfifer and John Malcovich among others (pardon the spellings)...there are so many back and forth manipulations between them all that I get dizzy with excitement and the part where Malcovich is breaking it off with Pfifer (after of course gaining her complete submission...based on his own submission to Close) and he just keeps saying over and over... "It is beyond my control"

GOOSE BUMPS!!!

Not a movie per se, but man do I want Mistress Heather from CSI as my subbie!

Oh... I am down to Blockbusters asap to pick up 'Enough' for sure ! Wobbly knees just thinking about that (sigh).

I saw the Royal Shakespeare Company stage version of Les Liaisons Dangereuses and it was ACE..two hours long, but there were even sword fights..fascinating play.

I watched the princess Bride...

Wesley, is he switching or has he always been Dominant?

He begins the movie, serving Princess Buttercup and all he ever says is "As you wish."

The last time he says it, the inflection is enough to make me squirm, as if he has finally demonstrated and revealed his true color.

Hmmm Star Wars ?

While there are many men, the Force? Using the Force? Losing yourself in the Force? Oh, and everytime they say Jedi Master, I get all gooey!

*giggles*

My Two Cents

As I began to search the database that is My mind for the requested information, it began to reel (pun inteneded) from the overload........being the old fart that I am (56) the search needed to be narrowed somewhat, but I decided to put this on hold for the moment and process, instead, the information for TV actors and actresses (they call themselves "actors" too, these days).......

Patrick Stewart (captain Jean Luc Pichard of Star Trek: The Next Generation) is the penultimate Dom, while jeri ryan (the borg, 7 of 9 from Star Trek: Voyager) is the subbie of My dreams (albeit, wet dreams, but thats the topic for ANOTHER thread)

"What's love got to do with it" Between my shedding an indignant tear for her and mentally drop kicking him - the studio scene where Ike sticks it righteously and with impunity to Tina does the same thing to me, to my eternal shame.

*dashes away to borrow "Enough"*

Bogart: it's just the other day i noticed how strange and misshapen a man Bogart is (physically). His head looked just as large as his torso. It almost triggered my "auto-mercysuck response". Not that he'd need it, but still.

Only one... the one and only....

Speaking of Ice Queens - mine is Catherine Deneuve, and she has been in quite a few kinky and/or alternative positions on either side of the spectrum in many of her films.

She simply does it for me - I admit, I would even watch her read the yellow pages with fascination... and the fact that she is approaching 60 has done nothing to lessen the attraction. ;)

oooh yes, Ike kicking Tina's bum (and everything else) is another one that gives me that warm juicy tingly feeling. :)

Funny, I only saw the ads for that movie "Enough"; but I totally pictured such a scene within.

"With impunity". One of my favorite phrases. Say it in a snotty English accent.

I am with lark sparrow on Catherine Deneuve..sigh..be still my beating heart.. lurved her in 'Belle de Jour' where she plays bored housewife married to wealthy man in wheelchair and goes out and becomes a hooker..and then one of her clients turns up for dinner :(

I always thought it went without saying that BBT was the dominate master and AJ was the subbie slave sex slut; but I recently met someone who had the opposite assumption. What is the real truth???

"Enough" was a movie starring Jennifer Lopez who was the victim of domestic violence and stalking by her husband.

The scene that many are referring to is about her husband "asserting" himself all over her face in the form of a knuckle sandwich. me? i will take the control, but the punch to the grill is no. Slap? Acceptable to me. But, i like my teefus in my head.

i get the point though ladies. He was brutally Dominant and that is always shivery sexy.

For me it's the thought of him standing over her saying.. " I'm a man" ..which besides bring a turn on to me personally...

..is stating the obvious but in the wider (vanilla) world, there are one heck of a lot of wimpy males about who don't deserve the description man..and I am not denigrating the GBT community here, because walk past a London leather bar in summer and you will see umpteen examples of macho. I am talking about insecure men who aren't comfortable within their own skin and are confused about the role of men in society and their own place within it.

Does that help any ??

Thank you lara and silk

to me he is no better then the whimps
but that is me
and I could be wrong

I see your point Richard, because he is dominating by force not because the woman has gifted him with her submission but we are talking movie not real life..so for me it is a turn on in a way because he is being assertive and macho not wimpy ..but it didn't actually happen in real life it was acting..whereas if I saw a man do that to a woman in real life I would try and do something to help her.. well I know what I mean..

Time to go to bed at 2:45 am ..night all !
