Reuters orders reporters to cover Trump like an authoritarian regime

“It’s not every day that a U.S. president calls journalists ‘among the most dishonest human beings on earth’ or that his chief strategist dubs the media ‘the opposition party’,” Reuters Editor-in-Chief Steve Adler wrote in a message to staff on Tuesday. “It’s hardly surprising that the air is thick with questions and theories about how to cover the new Administration.”

He cited the organization’s work in “Turkey, the Philippines, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, Thailand, China, Zimbabwe, and Russia” as an example of how to report on the Trump administration.

Adler said that reporters could use experience learned in “nations in which we sometimes encounter some combination of censorship, legal prosecution, visa denials, and even physical threats to our journalists.”

Among other advice, the news agency pointed out that reporters should “[g]ive up on hand-outs and worry less about official access.”

They've been nice to those who don't call them out on their lies.

They've been utterly hostile to anyone who has called them out on their lies or doesn't support their agenda.

They want propaganda, not news organizations to cover them.

It wasn't a FOX journalist that got belligerent with Trump and disruptive at a press conference....

It was a CNN journalist and he got shit talked and shut down for acting like a total asshole.

Your previous post said US children not citizens. US citizens operating with terrorists are IMO legit targets. And yes non-combatants including women and children are killed. Extremely regrettable but I'm sure carpet bombing of training camps in Pakistan's tribal regions by B-52s would kill far more women and children.

I don't think it's regrettable. I think taking out terrorist and leaving their friends/family/support networks there to rally behind them is fucking stupid.

We should wipe towns/cities off the map until these people decide to either behave and start policing each other, or they are no longer around to pose a threat.

If we aren't ready to kill EVERYONE, then we need to just stay the fuck home because it's apparently not that serious.

The Constitution says US citizens have a right to a trial. So yes.

I don't think Obama deciding "fuck that shit, I'm gonna do the PATRIOT act right!! Bombs away bitches!!" is good enough to just shit can civil rights.

You want to take peoples 4A rights away, there needs to be a convention and it needs to be done in a proper, civilized manner, through and in accordance with the law.
