The last few days I have been wandering around here a bit reading this and that and in particular looking at poems that have been here a few years and which need to be taken out and dusted off occasionally.

This evening I read Normal Jean's "it's not what you know" and Angeline's "Nothing" both excellent and utterly different.

Maybe you might like to pick out an older poem and post a link. I would have done so for these two but the dratted links won't work for me this evening.

If nothing else just read one of these poems .:)

Nice thread Ishtat

I have always enjoyed dipping into the archives at random, I used to enjoy the threads that listed the results of a random spin - not sure who the authors were, Rybka was one.

I would like to add Little Black Dress by DeepAsleep and Pecking Order by - again- normal jean

Thanks, Ishtat. This was very nice of you to remember these two poem. And it's a good idea for a thread. There's so much wonderful poetry here. A few people have chronicled poems here in various threads, but I'm always up for a new one. :)

So here, I'll link the two poems you cited (specially since one is mine. Ahem.).

it's not what you know by normal jean

Nothing by Angeline.

And I'll add a few poems that will enhance any reader's day (well imo). :D

A woman cross goat
like mountain climber
bruised and blued
lanky up inside cute shorts

she has no beeswax
being so pretty after bumping
bouncing bungee jumping

is there a cure for allure
not her, oh sure.
but those thighs

repel,
reel,
reclaim

You fell out when the book opened
Well not you silly!
I had forgotten you were here!

One fish! Two fish!
Red fish! Blue fish!
I hear your giggle near my ear.

Let me count your freckles again!
Mommy won't care!
green marker dots...52, 53, 54!

So you have a note? An invite
to an overnight? Can I go? No!?!
It's just boys??

And you have money, too,
In your pocket; 27 cents- wow!
A lot of gum!

And then a scream of brakes, a thud.
Thats all. Not much. So fast.

And you've been hiding here ever since.
In my book. 28 years.
Still giggling near my ear.

I haven't really forgotten, you know.
