Adewen Rider leaned back in her seat on the plane. Soon she would be back home in scottland with her family. She wished that Jack could have joined her they had been planning to go sence they had been married a few years ago, but an accident at work had taken his life.

Closing her eyes Adewen fell asleep on the plain the flight was going to be a long one and she may as well rest up while she could.

Adewen stood 5ft 4in and weghed around 120lbs soaking wet she has long cruly brown sholder lenght hair and olive green eyes.

Meeting her parents in the lobby of the airport after the plain landed. She gathered her lugage and they headed for the mannor house..

The house was small compaired to most in the area only 5 akers of land that held a 6 bedroom and 2 bath house with 2 large flower gardens, a small seperat for staff a vegetable garden and a fenced in small pasture and barn for chickens, rabbits, geese, ducks ect...

OOC: a grammar nazi's nightmare :p

IC: Douglass MacLeod stood outside his family's house, doing target practice on a shooting range set up by his father. He had gotten some new pieces for his collection, and was testing them out. One was an antique .50 Caliber revolver, and the other was a Thompson submachine gun. He had given them a thorough cleaning, and was now testing to make sure they were functional. The family's closest neighbor was a family living on 5 acres of land on the edge of their property. He had heard the daughter of the family was finally coming home, and though he hadn't met her yet, he trusted the family.

He smiled, as both weapons were intact and fully functional. He smiled, broke them down, and cleaned them, before putting them back together and putting them in the boxes he had bought them in. Then he ran a hand through his reddish-brown hair. He looked at the edge of the property and saw a car heading into the neighbor's house. He figured that would be the daughter coming home, and headed inside, to clean up. His family would insist on him meeting her.

Adewen

Adewn listend as her parents expressed their heart felt loss over Jacks death as they drove home. Were glad ye came home lass.. Were here for ye if ye need us.

She smiled at her parents knowing that they ment well and would be there to help her when she needed to talk or just needed a sholder to cry on. When she first got news of Jacks death she had been in shock... all the way thru the funaral and didnt cry until a few days later when it all hit full force, and she hadnt thought she would ever stop crying.

A few months later she had called her mother and father and told them about Jacks death and that she was comming home. I know ma i'll be fine i promise.. i've come home to heal.. she said in responce smiling sadly as they pulled into the drive and got out of the car.

Her father unloaded the car and Adewen helped him carrie her things into the house and up to her old room, her mom had gone to the kitchen to fix lunch, and check the messeges on the machine. Thank you and mom both i dont know what i would do with out you.. she said as her dad sat down her sute case. When he streatend she gave him a hug and held on for a few moments needing the strenght in her dads arms.

Hearing her mom holler up the stairs Adewen smiled beginning to feel at home remembering simalar times when her mother or father would yell up the stairs to call them down if they were in trouble or simply because it was time to eat.

Seeing her mom standing in the door way Adewen still had the smile on her face... yes ma what its it? she asked seeing her mother wanted to ask something... well i got a call from our negbor and was wondering if you would be up for some guests this afternoon for lunch.

Adewen wasnt sure if she were ready or not but didnt want to hurt her mothers feelings ether.. Its ok you and dad go ahead and when i am done with a shower and changing cloths i'll come down and help.

Once her parents had gone Adewen stripped out of her cloths and went into the connecting bathroom and got into the shower.. The water felt good on her skin after the long plane and car ride..She closed her eyes and tryed to relax.

Adewen chose a light brown silk speggitti strap sun dress and matching brown sandles to meet their negbors in, It wasnt often her parents intertained, and she wanted to look nice for them.

She pulled her curly brown hair up into a bun out of her face leaving a few tendrels of hair hanging down. She decided on a gold pair of hoops for earings as her only jewlery.

Comming down stairs she smiled seeing the look of pride in her fathers eyes as she walked by his study, and went into the kitchen.

Smiling at her moms complements she put on an apron and helped her mother finnish fixing lunch, the table on the sun porch had already been set, and refreshments already made.

Hearing the door bell she knew their father would awncer the door so there was no need for them to rush.

Douglass sighed, waiting for the neighbors to answer the door. His father had sent him ahead, as they were planning on bringing some stuff to help the young lady feel better. He had barely gotten out of the shower and dressed when his mother had told him about the reason the daughter was coming home to their neighbor's. He was about to leave when her father opened the door. "Welcome, laddie. Are your parents still coming over?"

He nodded his assent, then was ushered inside. "They were planning on bringing something to help her feel better."

Adewen

Adewen heard her father ushering their negbor inside as she and her mother carried the food out to the sun porch, and set it on the table. They had removed their aprons and smiled as her father lead their guests their way..

Apperntly seeing the confusion on his wifes face father smiled and announced that they were on their way but wanted to pick something up and would be right over.

Adewen barly heard her fathers words as she moved forward to take their guests hand he certenly was handsome she would give him that.. Hello i am Adewen.. she said smiling sofly as she introduced herself, and her father went to awncer the door inviting his mother and father inside to join them.

Douglass looked at the young woman holding his hand. She almost didn't look old enough to be formerly married. She was gorgeous, but so young. He realized he was staring, and shook his head. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Douglass, Douglass MacLeod."

The pleasure is mine Mr. MacLeod she said smiling and letting go of his hand to meet his parents accepting their gift promising that she would open it later.

As they sat down to eat her mother offered everyone drinks. Her father keeping up conversation with Douglass's father and her mother speaking to his. She couldnt help but notice the looks both sets of parents were sending to her and Douglass.. As the two of them talked. what is it you do Mr. MacLeod? It wasnt hard to guess what both sets of parents were hoping for, and tho Adewen knew it was probably time for her to move past Jacks death it was still hard to do so.

When her mother suggested she show Douglass the gardens Adewen smiled knowing it would make her mother happy if she did so she took a drink from her glass and set it down before rising.. Would you care to join me in the gardens Mr. MacLeod? she asked.

Douglass had been about to answer he question, then shrugged, and smiled. "Sure, why not." With that, he stood up, and finished off his drink. He then held out his arm for her to take, being a gentleman. He wondered if he should tell her that he used to work with the police as a detective.

Adewen took his arm and walked out with him gudiding him twords the gardens. I am sorry you didnt have the chance to awncer my question before my mother suggested we come out here... what is it that you do? she asked again looking up at him as they walked, and then back at the path infront of them.

Douglass raised an eyebrow, then smiled. "I work with the police, as a detective in the US. I'm on vacation now though. I added some pieces to my collection of antiques earlier."

Ahh i see. I've just returned home from the US, and am planning on staying here for awhile. Aside from my husbends death.. I know my parents arnt getting any younger. she said forcing a small smile... What is it that you collect? she asked finding one of the benches in the garden that was shaded by a tree she released his arm and sat down looking up at him.

Douglass smiled. That was a sharp doubleedged question if ever he heard one. "I collect guns, among other things. Usually antiques, but I have some modern ones too. I'm considering getting some blades too."

Interesting my father has some old guns from the 1800's i belive you might be interested in... Tho i am not sure he will sell them. What kinds of blades are you looking for? she said enjoying the conversation, and begining to relax. Douglass was a nice guy so far and she found she didnt really want to go back inside just yet.
