A great piece containing GB hot buttons, including inept big government vs. cost-efficient small government and, of course, racism...

...from Fulton County, Georgia and the urban counties immediately surrounding Atlanta.

The 10 county area voted this past week on a 1% sales tax increase to fund $7.2 billion in transportation projects that are designed to create mobility in the area - at least that was the sales pitch by politicians...

...the Transportation Investment Act failed with 63% opposed and 37% in favor.

The winners seem to think their examples of cutting their cities and towns off from the big government teat and contracting with private sources for almost all of citizen needs is the best way to go (instead of pensions for their police, eg, 401k accounts are established)...

...the cutting of such large amount of government employees doesn't sit well with the losers, and the article provides some interesting "racial" numbers concerning the big time government of Fulton County - home to Atlanta - itself.

Read the whole article at least once before spewing, please...
