Ever look back at your past stories and wish you'd written things a little differently?

I for one see at least one of my old stories could have been rolled into longer running ones if they'd been written (plotted) a little differently.

Hell, if they rebooted The Hulk...

I do.

And I have done some rewriting, changing first to third, for instance, in at least two stories that are still on Lit. But other than that, no.

I have to share what Colleen Thomas said to me once.

She said - NEVER rewrite an older work. Even if it makes you cringe when you read it today. Don't change it.

That is how you measure how far you've come as a writer.

I can sympathize. There is some non-erotic stuff I wrote back in the day I cringe if I read now. Then again, there are things I did a a child I cringe today when I think of them. Think of it as education that at least wasn't monetarily expensive.

I don't know that I would ever bother retconning anything on here. Though there is shit I look back at and cringe. Though there is shit so abysmal that I should at least delete it for the good of the world. On a side note when some group came through lit looking for shit to publish in there little smut mags (the little black and grey newspaper pocket books with funny names) they choose this as one of the stories to publish.

Maybe I should work more on learning my audience and less on improving my writing. Afterall somebody gets to write Spiderman the movie the book.
