Anyone really good at writing them? I could use some help. It looks as though I'm going to have to try and find a job. The problem is, the types of jobs I can apply for are limited (due to injuries from a wreck a few years ago, I can't stand on my feet for long periods of time). I need an office job of some sort. The issue is I don't have any work experience in that area (unless you count what little I got from working at college). I have computer skills just no work experience using them.

Can anyone take a look at what I've got so far and tell me if it's a good resume or suggest ways to punch it up a bit? I don't want to lie or anything but I do want to make myself sound like a good candidate. I would really appreciate the help.

Resume writing is tough. I took a class in it a few years back, to pick up some tips. I still have one of the reference books I follow when doing resumes for friends. PM Me if you think I can be of any help.

There is a really good book - simple and easy - called "Resume's that Work". I found it at the local library a couple years ago. It goes beyond the basics and gives you some really good examples.

I wish I could help, but I could use help on the subject as well

Thanks guys for the response. I'm so worried about the whole situation and that I won't find a job that I'm sick at my stomach.

I'd take a look if you want, but I'm probably from the wrong country and everything!

you can also look online. Go into google and type in Resume writing and see what you get

When I got laid off last time  they sent me to an outplacement firm, and they told us to think in terms of 'stories'. You should sit down and think of times at your previous jobs where you were confronted with a situaation, and you did something, and it helped the company succeed! :nana: :p :nana:

Once you come up with these amazing tales of on-the-job derring-do, that's what you list on your resume under each job title. The goal is that your resume shows that you actually DID something at each of your jobs, rather than just a list of duties and responsibilities. Also, once you get to an interview, then the employer looks at your resume and says, "Tell me about....", and you already have the 'story' all set in your mind to tell them.
