I published a story, but mis-categorized it by mistake. It should have gone in gay male, but was in first time. After seeing a few posts on the authors forum and the guidelines on the Literotica website I resubmitted the story including "Edited" in the title. I also added notes saying I had put it in the wrong category by mistake and just needed it moved to the right one.

I did this on 8/20 but it's still pending. Should I wait longer or send a message about it? Thanks in advance! :)

Edits (and this is essentially just that) go right to the bottom of the list of Laurel's priorities. From what I've heard, a month seems to be the minimum time you should expect it will take.

StillStunned is correct, edits are low priority. I try not to do too many edits after publishing to avoid extra work for Laurel, but one I submitted in July took about 15 to 18 days (I'm not sure of the exact amount of time because there's no notification when the edit goes through). I'd give it at least another week before sending a note to Laurel.

Next time, just send a PM to Laurel asking her to change the category for your story. She may not respond to you, but you will likely see the change much faster than by using the edit process.

I have found that messaging Laurel for things like changing a category, adding more characters to a story title, or adding more tags works far better and faster than submitting an edit. If you are making changes to the story content, then an edit is the only way to go.

Thanks so much everyone! I figured it wasn't a high on the priority list, just thought I'd check though. Thanks BobbyBrandt for the tip on PMing Laurel directly for small changes in the future. Hopefully I won't need to do that.
