Resubmit vs. Waiting It Out

First-time thread poster, been a Lit member and writer for just under a year. Bear with me if what I'm sharing is something that's already been covered, or if I mis-speak out of inexperience.

I understand there's been quite a lot said about the current backlog, and my current waiting period (three weeks on my latest) isn't unusual, but as I'm digging through these threads and trying to see what others recommend, I keep seeing that some people are getting lucky with resubmitting that same story and having it be approved in a matter of days, instead of weeks. By removing the submission and resubmitting it again, they're able to, for lack of a better term, jump-start the review process and get the turnaround back down. It keeps showing up in my search for answers/tips, so there seems to be some credibility to it, but I'm not sure it's worth the risk of it not working and having to restart my wait time. As I said, I'm already three weeks deep, and I get the feeling that every passing day should - hypothetically - increase my chances as it moves up the queue.

I suppose what I'm asking is: would it be smarter to try this cancel-resubmit workaround, or just wait it out?

Thanks in advance.

There are certainly people who have had success with delete/submit. I am in largely the same state but I will wait for a while longer.

According to https://forum.literotica.com/threads/story-pending-for-more-than-72-hours-please-read.1638228/

@Literotica says not to do anything for up to 15 days.

They don’t say what TO do after 15 days, but they definitely know that people are doing this delete-and-resubmit thing, and instructions about that are conspicuously absent from the announcement.

As far as I’m concerned, they’re basically saying-without-saying to go ahead and do it - just not before 15 days is up.
Gotcha. I had already read that thread they posted (and you shared), and that was my line of thinking, too - wait until the 15 is up, then try again and see. It's just not implicitly stated, so I wanted to see what recourse I had, and I stumbled across the workaround.

I just didn't want to be a day or two from publication, only to throw it all away on a gamble. Seems like it might be worth it, though. Thanks.

(PS: I've also seen your name on a good deal of these forum threads, so I'll assume you have some experience here and probably know what you're talking about 😅).

A bit agonizing, isn't it? I keep telling myself that each passing day, my odds go up, but when the days turn into weeks turn into months... I might have to give it a go.

In the spirit of full transparency, I have no experience at all with getting caught in the Permanently Pending Bug, myself.

An update: I removed and resubmitted last night (about 8:15PM EST, October 16), and as of now, about 14 hours later, the status has been changed to "Published - New" with a release date of October 19. This was more than I got after three weeks with the previous submission effort, so I'd wager it worked.

Can I ask if you attach your writing as a file when uploading? Or if you paste the text in?

I upload files, always have...But with having no luck at all getting something published lately, I am wondering if it's somehow related to the file upload. And if the people having success getting published are pasting in the text.

I always paste in rather than upload a file - my last story went into pending and stayed there

I deleted after 7 days, and submitted it as a new story and it went thru. Laurel says to wait 15 days......if its been longer than 15 days, I'd suggest resubmitting. It probably doesn't matter which way you submit it bit add a Note to Admin saying simething like "Story sat in pending from (day) to (day). Deleted and now resubmitting as of (day)"

ALso, I would REALLY recommend you open a Feedback Form and report it - Manu uses the Feedback Forms to track issues - if you do both a Feedback form and a Bug Report it will get better visibility with Manu/Laurel
- Your feedback is accesed thru your Control Panel, go to Help and click and select New Feedback.
- To open a Bug Report, use this link

Reporting these to LIT via Feedback and Bug Reports gives Literotica better visibility so it's important that everyone does this - this issue is affecting so many people but unless we all report it they may simply not be aware of how prevalent this issue is -

I opened a Feedback form myself on this and the AI rejections as generic issues and also PM'd Laurel and Manu and asked what the site is doing to address these and keep us informed but no response -
I really thing EVERYONE that experience sthese issues needs to open a Feedback Form and a Bug Report - making it really visible

For my first two or three entries, I was just submitting in plaintext or copy-pasting from an open Pages document (Mac user here), but recently I've been exporting into a Word file so as to make use of italics, special formatting, etc. I know the FAQs and even the Drafts page itself says that Word files take a bit longer to process, but my usual turnaround time was three or four days (not counting the recent three-week wait).

This latest submission was in Word format, and seems to have been approved even faster than the others that came before it.

I am the same, Mac user who exports from Pages to Word (y)

I guess just have to persevere and hope things return to normal at some point.

I (another mac/pages user) have never trusted the conversion, especially since I cannot see the preview when I do that and edits are sooo slow.

Have you had any issues with the translation? I have had problems with some tools not accepting .docx files generated by tools not from MS.

On the whole, I think it keeps the desired format. There might be a spot here or there where I notice a line isn't italicized where I had it, or a paragraph spacing might disappear, but in my (limited) experience, it seems to work on 99.9% of my text, and that usually averages around 15-20k words per story.

That's just my two cents, though. As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.
