Do they exist? I need a bridge in LA, not necessarily famous, but the higher the better. What would they be over? Rivers? Roads?

LA meaning Louisiana, or Los Angeles?

I can't say about Los Angeles, but what I've seen of Louisiana (and I've seen most of it) is quite flat. I can't recall any particularly memorable bridge there, nor anything else that fits the "tall" description very well.

Sorry, I meant Los Angeles. Didn't occur to me that LA stood for anythign else.

You do mean Los Angeles, CA, not Lousiana, right?

I don't know of any specific bridges in Los Angeles, although there are many over the Los Angeles River and various other flood control channels and thousands of freeway overpasses of various heights.

The freeway overpasses are generaly higher and longer than the bridges over flood control channels.

Most bridges in L.A. don't have names, just locations.

Dammit, I tried googling and got nothing helpful! You obviously have contacts in the search engine industry. :D

It didn't really surprise me; I ask for information and Shang and Harold appear. It's like something summoned them...

That's the kind of thing! Brilliant. I didn't need a specific bridge, I just wanted to know if bridges actually existed in LA CA before I started writing the scene.

Thanks.

Yes, there are any number of bridges in Los Angeles [I used to live there]. Most of the bridges are over "rivers." If you think a river is flowing water, you aint been to Los Angeles that much. Most of the "rivers" in the Los Angeles area are dry sand river beds with water only just after it rains. There are also some bridges in downtown Los Angeles that carry traffic over roadways.

WARNING! If you go to Los Angeles, do not ask the locals about seeing bridges. Many of the locals are of Mexican descent and will answer you: "We don't got to cho' you no steenking britches!"
