Does anyone know about/have any insights to the American Nazi Party as it stands this very moment? I've put some library books on hold that deal with the historic aspect, but I need to know about the party today. No, I'm not a Nazi, nor do I have any interest in their world, but I'm working on something that would be considered "alternate present," I suppose (as opposed to alternate history), and would appreciate the input.

I think they're pretty much down the tubes. The founder is dead and his acolytes fought over the remnants. I believe, also, that a good number of the members are in prison.

They do have a website, for what that's worth.

Honestly, Trinique, I think they basically share membership. I can't prove it without an in-depth journey to Idaho and Southern Oregon but that's my suspicion.

That's going to have to be the point, kid. Any kind of racism will get messy. Where I teach, we once had a middle school that, with all good intentions, allowed any ethnic group (and we have a lot) to form a campus club except the white kids. The assumption was that the white kids didn't need one and that the others would get empowered, feel good about themselves and the entire utopian deal. Within a couple of years, that middle school had the worst reputation for racial violence in the district! Needless to say, the policy was changed and all ethnic groups were banned and all clubs had to be open to all interested students, no matter what. Every time a group decides that the color of their (fill in the blank here) is a defining feature of their existence, you get trouble, every time!

Unfortunately, there's an innate belief that difference = prejudice. Not sure I buy that, but that's the going study.

That's the part I'm not so sure about. Paint a chimp's hair blue, introduce him to a new troupe, and after the novelties wore off, he gets along just fine. They groom, play, eat, etc. Look at children under three - they don't care either. The only thing they care about is that they have someone to jump around with and chase.

But, then again, it does seem to be innate.

Nazi actually meant national Socialism, a political ideal totally removed from fascism. Mussolini was fascist, Hitler was socialist. On that analysis, the Democrats tend towards the nazi and the Repubs towards the fascist. It doesn't work like that in real life.

The dreadful deal for Germany in the First World war. the Armistice, gave rise to the Nazi popularity and the ascendancy of a crazed racist.

If you study extreme right groups, be sure you fully analyze their distance from extreme left groups. The reason we all vote for the middle is 'cos we're scared of the extremes, wherever they're coming from.

It's always been a fascination of mine...how humans can create these mental dividers based on race, religion, skin color, culture, sexuality. It baffles me. I've stored this novel idea away for about ten years now, simply because it's so controversial. Interesting that in this day and age I've finally chosen to undertake the task of writing it.

I'm trying to study just enough so that I understand the basics of the past facist/socialist parties but what I really need to closely understand is Nazism today, including neo-Nazi parties, their goals, their leaders, etc. I know that there's a lot that probably no Nazi is going to reveal to a Slavic/lesbian/Hebrew holiday celebrating/Unitarian like me, but I am trying to find the acceptable cross between fact and believable fiction.

The upside of a fiction, "alternate present" type of novel is that you can create your own pockets of reality, and that truly appeals to me.

I don't think the ending will be so happy....but, we'll see.

They're mostly a bunch of lazy, incompetent fuckers who think they ought to get all breaks because of their bleached out skin. Of course, they never get a break, because they're so fucking annoying.

Their numbers did surge initially when the internet made networking easier, but as most ideologues eventually discover, philosophy doesn't pay the bills, so I suspect most of them got tired of waiting for the race war, and got jobs.

The rest can be found in jails and prisons, fighting with the Muslims and La Raza, and various other "Skins", mostly for something to do, and when they get out they'll go back to doing what they do best: robbery, drug dealing and beat downs, including the ones in congress.
