So I am conducting some research...

I am looking for BDSM movies... Not porn, but BDSM themed movies. "The Secretary" is a perfect example of what I am looking for...

So more accessible films, films to introduce the non-BDSM community to the lifestyle.

You could try Preaching To The Perverted....quite bit more graphic than The Secretary (which is not a fave of mine anyway), but a great romantic comedy which has everything from dungeons to ponyboys etc., and then some.

LOL, yes, I must admit I love the movie....even bought the sound track when I found it quite by accident. I must check out if it is available on DVD as the video is going to wear out sooner or later. Kinky Boots is another I have a soft spot for...British again.

Though it is one of those s&m-meets-perverted-killer type thangs, something that generally annoys me a lot, it has bdsm, lesbian bdsm. And Peta Wilson. But I might've mentioned that already.

Hm, just mastering the art of reading accurately. If meant for others, BDSM-themed thrillers... maybe not such a good idea.

(Though I do remember watching this one with one of my roommates, years ago, and having a mutual agreement on the hawtness of certain aspects of it. But he might've been just as weird as I am. )

I made this post last year in the movie thread.

You'll have to weed through the list, though. Lots of the movies are really crappy.

If I were new to bdsm and watching any movie out there, I think I'd run pretty fast. It's as if every movie with a bdsm theme also had a horror element. Or an underlying theme of "this is fun but in the end, really really bad for you."

I recall really enjoying 9 1/2 weeks - but again, the moral of the story was (if I recall) you can go too far down the kinky rabbit hole and make some really bad choices!!

You can google "bdsm romance movies" to try to get away from the hellish cinematic aspects of bdsm but not much came up.

Maybe this is a little hokey but why not use something like literotica to search some short stories and read them to each other? This is hit or miss too! But at least you haven't invested an hour or so of your life in to a movie...

And thank you again for advice here. I do like the idea of searching Literotica and sharing stories here... A much more authentic way of introducing ourselves to the scene. Can you recommend any? Please?
