Requesting Sweeps?

Anyone know if you can specifically request a vote sweep on your own stories? I'd email Laurel, but I figured I'd ask here first in case anyone already knows that such things aren't done...

I've seen the score on my contest winner (and a couple others) drop since the results were announced. It's entirely possible that people who were waiting to read the winners simply haven't liked it, but I have to wonder if this isn't also a bit of post-contest trolling.

This was the first story I've written where I got what I'd call a sour comment, too. Given how hostile some Lit readers can be, I realize I should count myself lucky, but that comment was specifically with regards to the contest thing. Makes me wonder is all.

I've contacted her before when I saw toplist manipulation, back in the day. I think I was using the "report this" link, though. It used to be fairly common for multiple 1-bomb runs to hit the toplist first page, moving everything off it and advancing certain stories. Haven't really seen it happening since the bar was moved to 100 votes. Most likely, the regular sweeps wipe out these runs before they even register with the new higher bar.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about any trolling - post contest or not. Most of those votes will vanish as time rolls on. The final sweep for the monthly awards ( which may not take place until this time next year :p ) will likely get any stragglers.

There have been times when I have been hit with a one-bomb shortly after a story posts and, if I considered it to be vindictive, I have said something about it in the place provided at the end of the story. Sometimes the one-bomb has been removed, frequently to be replaced within hours, and sometimes it has not.
