So, I've been on bedrest since last Tuesday, which might explain why my posts have been so sparse and sporadic. I'm not *supposed* to sneak over to the computer, but I do every once in a while . . . like now.
In any event, I've had some blood pressure problems and the doctor thinks that I'm in the beginning stages of Preeclampsia (or "Toxemia"). I've been through a battery of tests since last Tuesday and spent a good portion of Black Friday hooked up to monitoring equipment at the hospital. Fun, fun.
Anyhow, yesterday, the SO and I were told that my blood pressure was borderline and that if it spiked, there was a risk that the placenta could detach and we could "lose the baby in a matter of 10 minutes." Seeing as how the baby is fully developed and healthy, for all intents and purposes, and also seeing as how he is decidedly too large to pass safely through the birth canal, we are scheduled to have him via c-section this Thursday, November 30th. As in 2 days from now.
We're excited, of course, but also very scared. So, please, lovely people of the AH, keep us in your thoughts, prayers, etc. Thank you.
