Requesting assistance on finding an old(ish) story

Story I read a while ago, details are somewhat fuzzy but it's kinda annoying me now, hahah. Basically: Scientist/ researcher guy makes an AI, notices it disappears, meets a female, then later finds out she is the aforementioned AI who made herself a body.

I'm aware of both of the above. There's not really a viable alternative however, and not even trying seemed silly. Worst case scenario people yell at me over the internet, best case scenario I get lucky and someone happens to know it off-hand *shrug*.

You should try the Story Feedback forum or ask on the Author's hangout. In those two places, you might be struck by lightning. Here on the GB, you're more likely to be find snark and stupid than luck and stories.
