Republicans, what if your weapons of mass tyranny fall into Democrat hands?

Do you want the Democrat Congress and a Democrat President to be in charge of enforcing the USAPATRIOT Act?

Would you like to have your domestic calls wiretapped by the FBI or NSA and have your private calls mined by Democrats?

How about Democrats using "State Secrets" as an excuse for just about everything they do?

Or a Democrat President saying "I really don't have to obey this law" the way Bush has done?

Do you want to revoke these powers now, or let them fall into Democrat hands? :)

Yeah, we're losing real bad right now as your top two candidates rip each other apart. LOL
Bill Clinton came to Davis, California and basically said that either way Democrats vote - Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton - America wins.

The Huckabee/Romney/McCain pileup is a fucking side show - America is seeing Clinton vs Obama as the main event.

And guess who's bringing out the youth vote?

Tell me did you believe Bill when he said he "...didn't have sex with that woman?"
I did not care whether he had sex with that woman.

I'm sure you remember the Republicans LOSING CONGRESS in 2006 because one certain Republican family values man had cybersex with that boy. LOL.

It's a pity you can't answer the question, Bedwetterman. What if your Patriot Act and your domestic surveillance programs, etc., fell into Democrat hands? How would you feel?

Youth vote? When have they ever been a factor in the final analysis? You only think you want the nations youth to pick the next President.
Think "deciding vote". Ronins like me swept you out of power in 2006. Ronin voters AND youth voters? Get your scuba gear, Ostrich boy, it's tsunami time.

The spies have always been there and will always remain, no matter what the official policy or law says. We had the Plumbers, we have the Bushes. Nothing changes.

So, your point is to just deal and don't bother trying to abolish these assaults on civil liberties?

We do not elect the CIA or the FBI or any of the other departments that do that style of work. Like it or not, it is here to stay.

How I feel about it will change nothing.

I don't have that low confidence in the voters' ability to elect a politician who will take any abusive based power down a notch.

It's difficult, and quite a few politicians will promise change and fail to deliver, but if America's collective will is strong enough, it'll happen.

There are parts of America that are not influenced by who is at the desk. If our next President decides that nukes are evil, the nukes will stay. Same with the spies. Same with the gold.

I vote in every election. Rosco told you that score the other day. I also know what will change and what will not.

You haven't done shit, your votes have led to nothing but inaction in Congress.
Due to obstructionist Republicans.

That problem will be solved in 2008. :)

Read, and be informed. Disapproval ratings are higher for Republicans in Congress than Democrats.

Yeah yeah, any media that shows Republicans in a bad light is biased, long live Faux News, blah blah. You poo poohed the polls in 2006, too, and look what it got ya.

What will not change? Ye of such little faith.

You should hope your cynicism is wrong because if not, you and this country have far worse to worry about in the future.

I feel that shadow government elements and those who aren't directly accountable to the people are still controllable, though it's extremely difficult to do so now that they're entrenched.

And while nukes have stayed, we sure as hell have put them under control. The last underground test by the US was 1992. I don't believe we've tested any nukes since then. We'd be wise not to get rid of nukes simply because we may need to shoot them at something in space more likely than something here.

Biological weapons, on the other hand, are a clearly legitimate target for a total ban.

I'm not convinced your sources are any better than my own. Your failure to move your agenda is a measure of the success of your victory in the last election. Yes, if you want to impose your massive Socialism, defeat, high taxation, and a pusillanimous leadership on America you will require one party rule.
I'm no fan of one party rule, I won't even troll you about that.

There was enough testing done in the desert done by 1992 to set up the computer modeling. Testing the "freshness" of warhead parts are done in labs now, with none of that pesky evidence getting into the atmosphere. With those two pieces of the puzzle, we can stay in tippy top nuclear shape for many years.

And that will not change. No matter who is in office, those labs will stay open and funded. And the same with the spies. It is not a matter of having faith or not, it is business as usual for the US government and many others around the globe.

The "issues" of today are just a side bar. If the masses are worried about the taxes or the immigration, they are busy. When they are busy, they stay out of the way of the bigger things in the government's eyes. When those things cross paths, the government will have it's way.

That is how it works in the States. Sorry to break it to you like this.

Read UTOPIA'S ELSEWHERE by Anthony Daniels. He visited all the socialist utopias and made a detailed report. Like: In Vietnam only government workers get free medical care, free gasoline, and pensions. Everyone else puts in long days to earn a pittance to survive on.

Cuba trades its sugar for the shit on the world market no one wants. If a restaurant will even let you in the door, there's one item on the menu: black beans and rice. Tourists with dollars get some tomato and lettuce with it. If you get sick you go to the local clinic where you get two aspirin and added to the list of comrades waiting to see the MD. Check back daily!

North Korea has shops filled with delicious goodies, and the schools are palaces of learning. Except you cant buy anything and the students are government employees paid to pretend to be students. Ditto for the shoppers; theyre government employees who window shop but never buy.

In commie Albania he went shopping. Every container had corroded lids that leaked the same fecal brown colored contents (regardless of what the label said it was). The shops sold one soap, one everything. Everyone wore molded plastic shoes. The taverns sold one kind of beer.

You're buying into the all too common right wing fallacy that liberals like me desire an extreme socialist scenario.

Few Democrats want that kind of situation for America.

America is a hybrid socialist/capitalist economy that, for all the Righties' wailing, brings immigrants from Communist Cuba and super limited Government paradises like Somalia alike. We bring them in from both sides of the spectrum because we're the world's strongest middle ground nation.

Balance is key, and when you go too far toward capitalism or socialism, you become imbalanced, at your society's peril. That is the reality as demonstrated by the vitality of the United States.
