Republicans are quite simply un-American

Obviously not. :D

And, once again, freedom of expression isn't a right on a privately owned Web site.

If you could see past the end of your nose, you'd realize I meant in the larger view, NOT just on Literotica. Your narrow view could stand a little turning of your neck on occasion.

Oh look still a bunch of socialist who think liberals are un-American.

None of you ever studied US history or passed a remedial civics class apparently.

It's obvious what you always mean in your political posts on a porn board. You're an increasingly struggling Trumpette.

First, that should be "It's always obvious what you mean ... "

Secondly, YOU are criticizing someone for making a political comment on a porn site? ROFLMAO

If Trump thinks the Emoluments Clause is "phony" and the constitutional provisions for impeachment are a "lynching", then maybe he should take time out from his busy schedule of golf, tweeting and watching hate-mongering on Fox "news" and actually READ THE DOCUMENT THAT HE SWORE AN OATH TO PROTECT AND DEFEND!!!!

Applause .

The GOP has become the lunatic fringe of American politics. They hate compromise. They hate investigative journalists. They hate fact-checkers. They hate scientists. They hate Freedom of the Press. They hate Freedom of Speech and they hate Freedom of Assembly.

Nowadays the GOP seems less like a political party, and more like a patriarchal, fear-based religious cult that tells their adherents to be afraid of dark-skinned people, reporters, Constitutional scholars, gays, lesbians and women who speak up about being sexually assaulted.

I see them as a hybrid mix of religious cult and organized crime family.

Un-American?

What does the term un-American even mean?

One time, a rock group called the Grateful Dead was being picketed at a concert, accused of being un-American because of some of the graphics they used in their promo materials.

Their lead guitarist responded to the charge by stating, "That's ridiculous. The Grateful Dead are as American as apple pie and lynch mobs."

It's meaningless to call anyone un-American. Our history encompasses a wide range of national behaviors, from altruistic to deplorable.

Oh look a place for me to interject my pro-rape, pro-racism views! Remember all the threads I started with my alt dawn to lie about black people? Man those were fun! Oh shit here comes dan to own my ass.

And you haven't either. I've caught you lying, racist lying, making up, misrepresenting, or simply just inventing "facts" about US history for quite some time now.

Sorry racist bot but you just got owned hard.

I thought that Ireadforpleasure did an excellent job explaining the meaning of the term un-American, however, I'll now take it upon myself to explain it to you.

America was founded on values that made America very different from the English Monarchy, Czarist Russia and all of the other nations that existed at the time.

Unlike every other nation on the planet, we rejected the idea of absolute rulers. We put forth ideals such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, the separation of church and state, no religious tests to run for public office and the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure.

In the past few years, we've been seeing Republicans vigorously reject all of these American values.

They see these American values as something inconvenient and annoying , that prevent them from crushing their enemies.

Just recently an excellent example popped up that helps portray how Republicans are un-American. Laura Ingrahm invited Frank Luntz onto Fox news Channel so that he could attack the baseball fans who booed Donald Trump and said that those fans should be held "accountable". He said that the American people were not allowed to show disrespect to President Trump and that they must be punished for daring to hurl disrespectful boos at him. Laura Ingraham agreed with this assessment.

To reiterate, Luntz and Ingraham are saying that people who are disgusted with Trump should be punished for exercising their freedom of speech. He thinks that the American people should not be free to verbalize their displeasure with Donald Trump.

This is extremely un-American.

American soldiers fought and died for American rights like freedom of speech, but Republicans like Luntz and Ingraham think that we shouldn't have those rights.

I'm sure, as an articulate and analytical person, you can agree that the type of person that would show such public disrespect to a sitting president is a classless boor that should be ashamed of themselves. That's very different from saying they have no RIGHT to act like morons, just that it is despicable behavior.

Yes, but here is the point I was making:

You mentioned a lot of ideals, such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, the separation of church and state, no religious tests to run for public office and the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure. Those ideals stand on their own, but historically they are not always what America has actually done in its domestic and foreign actions.

We have some very dark history mixed in with the good stuff, including what is happening right now where a major political party holds a very different view of the term un-American than the one you described.

And, these ideals you describe are not unique to America. We don't hold any patents on them. Americans trash these ideals regularly, as you pointed out. The very founders of this country trashed these ideals for both women and African slaves.

And, American soldiers have sometimes fought and died for these ideals and have sometimes fought and died for purposes that were antithetical to these ideals. Note that a major expectation of patriotism is to act like every military action taken by America was done to protect "our way of life", not necessarily to export the ideals you describe. So what the hell is our way of life? You will get different answers from people, but our behavior is what defines America in the eyes of the world.

So, why not just substitute your use of the term un-American with more descriptive terms such as un-ethical, or immoral, or autocratic.

Using the vague term American as an adjective to describe actual behaviors could mean anything from the definition you gave to the Canadian depiction America in the South Park series.

BLAH! BLAH! BLAH! People have a right to free speech, doesn’t mean you have to like how they use that right. We also have a right to refute the bullshit. Go ANTIFA!

They have a natural right to be idiots, too. Antifa as a case in point.

The House of Representatives Committee on Un-American Activities is another reason why I resist using the word American as an adjective to describe our ideals.

Did Joseph McCarthy represent our ideals?

Donald Trump complained on Tuesday that America’s founders didn’t want presidents to be impeached, going so far as to say it is something they “never thought possible.” Trump’s comments came just before he presided over a Cabinet meeting.

“It’s a scam,” Trump said of the House impeachment inquiry. “They’re doing something that the founders never thought possible, and the founders didn’t want. And they’re using this impeachment hoax for their own political gain to try and damage the Republican Party and damage the president.”

Wow.

Is Trump INSANE? America's Founding Father very definitely thought it would be possible to impeach a president! They deliberately wrote impeachment into the U.S. Constitution as a mechanism to protect the nation from corrupt, reckless, insane and criminal types that somehow manage to get their ass into the highest seat of power in the United States of America.

America's Founding Fathers foresaw the possibility of a guy like Trump ending up in the White House, and they created impeachment specifically to be used against guys like Trump!

I wish I was a mod for the GB. I would shut down all these redundant threads taking up server space. 🙄

Coati you resist using the word "American" as an adjective to describe your ideals because you know "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." isn't even close.

It's a country to be proud of - and yet, for some unexplained reason, progressive-far-left Democrats remain ashamed of this country, and want to diminish everything that our nation stands for in the eyes of the world! They'd rather insult this nation than show proper respect for it!

"They see these American values as something inconvenient and annoying , that prevent them from crushing their enemies."

The modern Democratic Party shows more respect for anti-American nations like Cuba, Venezuela, and even Iran! Today's liberal Democrats are far more likely to fly the gay/rainbow flag from their front porch than fly the American flag! Like Colin Kaepernick, today's Democrats have CONTEMPT for America!

"This is extremely un-American."

The left today believes that to hate the United States is to be PATRIOTIC! Modern liberals actually label Colin Kaepernick, Megan Rapinoe, & Jussie Smollett as heroes & patriots! THIS is why President Trump won in 2016, and why he'll win again in 2020!

Antifa is an organization of emasculated American fascists. And yes, they mostly support Democrats.

SecretSapphic writes: "America's Founding Fathers foresaw the possibility of a guy like Trump ending up in the White House, and they created impeachment specifically to be used against guys like Trump!"

The Founding Fathers KNEW that partisan hacks would try and use impeachment to overturn legal elections, which is why they put in a KEY ROLE for the U.S. Senate to play in BLOCKING half-assed actions by partisans in the House of Representatives, resulting in vindication for a president like Donald Trump and keeping him in office!

The right has a long history of spewing stuff like that, which they know isn't true, because it's what their fans want to hear. With Trump, though, you can never really tell whether he's pulling that trick or he's really that ignorant himself. My money is on the latter, though - he has proven time and again that he doesn't know much of anything about anything.

I'm leaning towards the latter as well. On the same day that Ambassador Sondland testified against Trump and accused Trump of being in change of a criminal conspiracy that involved extortion, Trump declared victory over the impeachment hearings and told reporters that "It's all over."

I stand up for principled Republicans, who object with being classified as Trumpinistas, like common Rethuglicunts, Tea Party Astro-turffed dipshits, Trump Chumps who can not differentiate between gangster bullshit and what common sense tells them.

"You know... Morons" to quote Blazing Saddles.

Mike Steele and the rest who were "Never Trumpers" reputations are being blackened because they did not stand up for Republican Honor! and I mean all three of them.:)
