Bob Ney, republican culture of corruption centerfold, pled guilty this week, after months and months of denials that he had broken any laws. Ney's criminal dealings with Jack Abramoff and others essentially boiled down to a selling off of Congress to the special interests. This follows a conviction against David Safavian, the Bush administration's former chief procurement officer.
Another corrupt republican, Tommy DeLay, had Texas' highest criminal appeals court agree Wednesday to consider reinstating a conspiracy charge against him. This appeal, if successful would reinstate a conspiracy charge against DeLay, in addition to felony money laundering and conspiracy counts that stem from Republican fund-raising in the 2002 legislative races.
Poor 'pubs. Things just keep looking worse.
