THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE MALICIOUS

I was reading all other song lyric thresds and not to knitpick (although I know this thread will be attacked vigorously by people that know no better) noticed that all of them containg inaccurate songs lyrics,,,for example..

Black by Pearl Jam

Her Body hold's still...not once did.

Perhpas it is that I am a musician, but if you are going ot quote lyrics, please do it correctly to show respect to the author

Like Yoda said, "try not...do or do not, there is no try"

Good point, but sometimes the singers aren't very clear in what they are singing -- the guy from Pearl Jam is a great example, along with Nirvana's Kurt Cobain. There are tons more, and although I agree it does a song more justice to quote the proper lyrics, I just want to say in the defense of others who sing the wrong words when the songs come on that the lyrics aren't always sung very clearly. ;)

Get a life.

They forgot to put the copyright symbol and whether it was ASCAP or BMI. Is the "JD" for juvenile delinquint or Doctor of Jurisprudence?

read it ALL

That is exactly what I thought would happen, RE:jerseycitizens comment. Always some jackass that likes to show off his online intelligence with some misguided legal advice. WHy does every comment on the internet have to be greeted with hostility? Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, SO following that line of reasoning correctly imitating (or in thsi case transcribing) song lyrics would be the most appropriate. We are not talking obscure songs, but classics such as Whole Lotta Love and "Black"...the latter has the lyrics printed in the liner notes. SO, in that case misrepresenting the lyrics is lazy. Put in at least a fraction of the effort that the writer put in is all I ask.

Now as far as JC (too lazy to write whole name) goes...I actually am a thrid year law student which has taught me this if nothing else. I can write songs lyrics anywhere I want provided that
1. I do not pass them off as my own
2. I do not record them for commerical distribution without giving proper credit (and in case you did not notice, every contributor DID give proper credit to each artist)
3. It is taking money out of the artists hands (kind of like the whole Napster thing)
4. The place I am writing them is not private property

This is simply like listening to music all together, but instead of actually hearing it, people type in what they are listening to. Again do not taker this as malicious, but do you think anybody who missed a couple of words in their transcription did so to avoid copyright infringement? Paranoid are we? There are so many things that want to say but won't as I am not here to argue, just contribute like everybody else. I hope not all Americans are like you.....
