I recently did mine online for $65 dollars and it doesn't expire forever.

No wanting me to go down to the DMV for an eye exam, nothing.

Granted, I'm the only one in my family to not require glasses (kudos to all that pot smoking years ago) and this is Florida, but don't you find that odd?

I could be blind as a bat nowadays!

What's it like in your states/countries?

I think if you're not smart enough to wear eye correction if you can't see, you're probably not smart enough to drive.

There's no way to enforce a stipulation for vision correction.

Maybe if you had a white cane sweeping in front of your bumper, a cop might look at you twice.

You don't see what I'm getting at? How are they to know how good my vision is to still let me drive a vehicle? What is this, the Honest System?

So many without licenses, registrations, insurance and now NO eye exams on the Floridian roads.

What about not being able to afford eye correction?

Well, after what I mentioned I guess that's the least of FLA's worries.

So what good are the eye exams in the first place? I haven't had one at the DMV since my 20s.

We have tons of QTIPS down here, phrobro, QTIPS as in old white haired people. They're not taking eye exams?

So those spindles at CVS and Walgreens featuring eyeglasses with the magnified value of 20 through whatever, that's what people can purchase if they find themselves in a visionary rut. Fine.

I act like I'm upset that I don't have to wait in line for 3 hours to get an eye exam, but deep down I'm upset that nobody cares enough to make sure that I'm still 20/20.

Anyway, you people were useless.

They probably are.

I'm eligible for "Senior Discounts" and have to renew my DL at the DMV with an eye test. My Daughters, Sils, and the one Granddaughter who drives call all renew online without an eye test because they aren't in the age range where an eye test is required.

Under a certain age here you have to have an eye exam when you renew your lisence, every 5 years.
Over a certain age, it's every year.
If you wear visual aids, you can be asked to undergo a random eye test at any time.
I wear glasses, and have had 3 random tests in 26 years, apart from my regular renewal tests.

In Florida the money is what matters. Plus its the assclown kids who have all the wrecks, racing from one red light to the next.

In a couple of years I will have to get, and pay for, a letter from my doctor stating that I am fit to drive. I already have two statements about my health recorded on my licence details. If I had not declared those health conditions my licence and insurance could be invalidated if I needed medical attention for example after a crash.

In a couple of years' time I will have to pay the government for a new driving licence that only lasts three years, then repeat the process and payment every three years. That can go on indefinitely. There are several people aged over 100 driving legally on UK roads.

It sounds like discrimination against the elderly and a perfect place for the ACLU to step in and sue. Elderly Profiling must be stopped and either everybody or nobody should have to take an eye exam to obtain their drivers license.

Yeah, coz macular degeneration and glaucoma and age-related eyesight deterioration commonly affect 18 year olds too

I'm in Florida too, my license is good for the next 8 years.

I could have been dead and whoever got my letter in the mail to renew could have filled out the forms online.

In California, it's $10 every five years, but one can renew twice in a row by mail. So, you have to go in and take a vision test every fifteen years, at least.

I don't really know if we can renew our license online or by mail in this state and for me it's doesn't matter any how. Those or us with a CDL endorsement are required, every four years, to go to the DMV to renew it.

It is every four years in Ohio and I honestly don't remember how much, maybe, $35?
