Okay, I admit I went to a Renaissance Faire (probably spelled wrong) this weekend. What is intriguing, however, is that I overheard several people mention "Lit", "the Lit boards", and "The Playground". Just curious, anyone else attend?

Bumping this for ya so it's at the to of the Playground. Sounds interesting. :)

Bump up a thread or move it?

I'm a Mod for the Personals so I have the "power" to move threads to more appropriate boards on Lit.

Bashfull,
I don't attend as much now that I don't live near one, but I have regularly in the past... Nothing is better than going in costuming! I do miss that...

I know there are several people here who go... Do a search and you'll run into a few threads...

Wasn't at the Faire you were at, but I LOVE Faire! Such a wonderful place to kind of let it all hang out, y'know?

I knew there were a few. This weekend was only the second one I have ever attended. (did I get the "m'lady" right?)

I'm more facinated by the possibility of accidently seeing another Lit member at one. Truth be told, I am still in disbelief of this site. We need some sign or something that we can wear at an event where there are potentially many Lit members. Maybe a LIT cap or shirt? Inconspicious enough to appear to be just another logo but has meaning to those here. Then some sign of aknowledgement showing that we didn't buy the hat in a yard sale?

Any input from the masses?:p

Boustiers?

Another item of note: I am absolutely infatuated with the boustiers? AAAAHHHHGGG. Where is the spell check? If that is even what they are called. Oh my, those voluptious breast upheaving with every sigh...awaiting me to lightly draw my fingers across the busom, to caress my tongue on their curves. To trace those lovely mounds and cup them in my hands. The cleavage leaving a perfect valley and trail for my tongue to and lips to peck away at nape of the neck. My breath hot upon her jugular while my tongue flicks so delicately across her lips and retraces back down her nape to her shoulders, the while my hands continue to...Ooops, did I say that out loud? Now I'm blushing!

aaahhhh.....another man lost to the power of a wmn in a bustier. Who says men control the world?? Just let a wmn wear 1 and the power shifts......hehe.

well, a wmn HAS to have a way to protect herself and WHAT man would be threatened by or suspicious of a wmn placing her hand at her bosom?? (where the knife is concealed....so she can grab and defend) :D and how did you know I was partial to those type blades (tho, sadly, I don't own 1 :( :( :( )

Bodices...

I for one wish we could go back to that time in r/l...would be so much more fun.

Fewer cares in the world, not so obsessed with money and other negative things...such a fun escape.

Think about it, what a world it could be!

As for women with heaving bosoms in bodices...there is almost nothing greater in the world:D.

My lady and I work at the faire in Wisconsin. We have traveled so far to Minnesota, Michigan, Kansas, Illinois and hope to go to many other faires around the country. Of course a trip over the pond wouldn't be a bad thing either. With my Scottish/Irish heritage, an excursion would be an experience.

Rogue,

Have you ever read Timeline? Excellent book along those lines... I would highly recommend it!!!

Not yet. My lady highly recommends the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon.

Rogue~welcome to the faire. Eventually, we'll get this thread moving.

My suggestion is this...It is traditional at faires for participants, visitors and customers to give "favors" to others. Usually it is a piece of ribbon, sometimes with a charm on it. I will post some of my favorites later, just to give everyone ideas.

For Lit members, we could all go to craft stores and buy small wooden letter l's which we could paint or otherwise customize, then glue a pin on the back. Only people from Lit would have a clue, we could make up a story for non Lit people. Let me know what everyone thinks.

since i do custom beadwork could i just make mine instead...don't get to many faires other than the one in ohio at present...just let me know what the design is and i will make me own...

Just lit me know

I up for lit...sorry, been long week and can't resist playing on words. sounds good to me. wonder how I will explain "favor" to wife? hmmm....

And then bashful, there are those of us who do the sca thing. ;) I love my bodices. Trying to get one made that's just a tad bit more....risque than the others. :D

The SCA thing? Forgive my ignorance, but I am willing to learn if you care to share? And there is nothing wrong with risque. As long as you share the pics!

the SCA is short for "the society for creative anachronism". The simplest way I have found to describe them (so the locals here dont think I'm satanic--small SMALL minded here) is think of the guys who do the civil war reenactments, move the time period to the yrs between 600-1600 AD and thats the sca. Its a historical/educational org that is fun to boot.

Can someone tell me how to find an SCA chapter in Wisconsin?
