Removeable Drives

Thanks for you help with earlier computer problems.

Here's an interesting one. When signed in as my "username" my laptop will recognize that you've plugged in USB removeable media (thumb drive or external HDD), however it never shows up in My Computer as an available drive. If you sign in at the Network Administrator, there's no issues with seeing those drives.

I'm of Course using Windows XP Pro.

If it requires the Network Admin to access the drive, it probably means you need to set a different "sharing level" or access level for those drives.

Since I don't use Win XP I can't tell you how to go about granting or denying access to 'network' drives but your system is clearly seeing your external drives as network drives.
 
Linux..... Not as friendly.. but a lot more understanding........ Besides I have never figured out why you hit "start" to Quit something....

makes no sense.....:D
