The children have been in the 'new square' in front of my apartment handing out flowers to shoppers, quite touching.

Every year we stand in front of our Dad's picture, with him dressed in his Legion finest and pray for two minutes, after which we place a poppy in a picture frame that we started the year after his death. We play "A Scottish Soldier" in his honour and then take a shot of the dram to salute him.
We like to remember him more than just one day, but this is one we never forget.

I am too ill to go to the cenotaph this year. I will watch the service at the War Memorial from home.

This is another poignant reminder of small contribution of time we are asked to dedicate in honour of those who served.

Same day, different countries. Canada calls it Rememberance Day, while the US goes with Veteran's day. Armistice Day was after the WW1 signing. It doesn't matter what the name is, the thoughts we have in remembering them are what we need to focus on.

Only in the US, Jenny. It's been Remembrance Day in Canada for a long time. The US changed to Veterans' Day from Armistice Day so as to include WWII and subsequent wars.

No matter what the name, it is a day to remmeber those who have fallen in defence of all of us, and we should remember them. Here we have a piper lead a procession to gather for two minutes of silent memory.
