Remembering Dio on anniversary of death

They were doing a Dio Returns tour. I know they had a Detroit date but it was cancelled not sure why. Hologram eyellusionlive.com/coverage/ronnie-james-dio-hologram-to-play-over-100-shows-in-2019

Ronnie James Dio's passing was the only celebrity whose death caused me to break down into tears. He was a hero of mine for many, many years.

One of my first concerts was Quiet Riot opening for Black Sabbath with Dio singing. It was a great show, and I remember it like it was yesterday.

Still missed. 🎶🎵
I got to see him in 2009, I think it was. He opened for Scorpions and Deep Purple. While I would loved to have seen him in his heyday, his 45 minute set was absolutely flawless. It was almost a religious experience...lol

I saw "Dreamers Never Die", his bio-movie at the first weekend of October. We had to drive three hours to a theater that showed it and it was worth every mile. And for Christmas two years ago I got the hardback graphic novel telling the story of the cover of "Holy Diver".

His passing affected me so deeply I blogged about it on the eleventh anniversary of his death.

What a voice he had. Sends chills through me when I hear him sing.

There was no one who could sing like him. The closest I've come to listening to someone who affected me like he did is a band called Liliac. Their singer, Melody Cristea, owes a LOT of her chops to Dio.

For my birthday I was treated to his bio-movie, "Dreamers Never Die". We had to drive almost three hours to the cinema where it was showing. One of the best birthday gifts every.
