Remembering Bon Scott on anniversary of his death

July 9 , 1946 to Feb. 19, 1980 :rose:

Nearly 40 years later and we still love ya, Bon.

It's a Long Way to the Top (and you made it, dude!)

Oh, we do.... Nobody did it like Bon.

I like to think that he and Malcolm are raising some hell together, wherever they are.. :)

Did you hear that the rest of the band has been seen in the vicinity of a recording studio in Vancouver in the recent months? Brian, Angus, Cliff, Stevie, and Phil? And some rumor about archived music with Malcolm playing? I'm excited about that.

Hi Ladies,
What a great thread. I love so many AC/DC songs especially It's a Long Way to the Top. I mean bagpipes and rock n roll.... What's not to love!

WTAF!? Nearly Forty years!?

Damn, I'm old...I still think of AC/DC ( and Queen, Aerosmith and Van Halen) as promising new bands. You know as opposed to established acts like the Stones and the Who and Neil Young and Santana.

Somebody get my tea. Hey! get off my weed patch!

Right?! Those guys are pushing 80!

But AC/DC got some real good music.

Vale Bon! What a legend.

So many iconic riffs from the band. You hear the first couple of bars of a song like Highway to Hell with Angus crunching it out... just have to turn it up and belt out the lyrics. 😲

I have heard about that and am geeked.

I have pretty much just stuck with Bon Scott's AC/DC. Just love the sound with him and I don't want to hear anyone but him sing those songs.

And, jeez, those rhythm guitars were bigger than Malcolm!

I did see them in concert with Brian Johnson and had a fab time but certainly wish I had been able to see Bon.

The Let There Be Rick concert film was incredible. Bon was something special indeed. I do really appreciate that AC/DC never missed a beat when they brought in Brian, though. He brought his own flavor that was great too.

Yeah, particularly not freaking Axl Rose. Gack.

Malcolm was my favorite.

You guys need to see this movie:

It’s one of my go-to feel good movies, I love it.. and always cry at the end!

Rock on forever, Bon Scott.

Wish I was old enough to have seen him live.
Whenever I sing along to an AC/DC song (albeit badly), it's typically with a Bon Scott accent (also badly) over a Brian Johnson one.

No offense to Brian Johnson, mind you.
Couldn't have had AC/DC without either of them.

So happy to see all the AC/DC and Bon Scott fans here.

Brian Johnson was/is a class act. check out this clip from the band's acceptance speech for the Hall of Fame induction. Brian Johnson quotes Let There Be Rock , gives a nod to Bon Scott and then introduces Bon' s nephews who accept the award . Classy!

Rock on, Bon and Mel

Legend of a front man, legend of a band and Let There Be Rock does exactly that , just rocks and nobody sang it like him.

My kid's favorite band is AC/DC. How a kid born in the 20202 ever found them is beyond me. Must be my excellent parenting. :D
