Can anyone explain what this rejection means?
Was there excessive violence, snuff, or abuse of characters in your story?
The story was an erotic horror story. Do they want less violence, or more? The story had a woman being raped by 2 demons, there is blood involved. Also, two of her friends were killed by the demons while they were taking advantage of them. The main character awakes, thinking it was a dream, but then finds evidence that it may not have been.

Thanks!

I take this to mean there can be no snuff in storys. Snuff is where a person is killed during the act of sex. Sounds like you where rejected based on the fact two of your characters where killed during sex. Seems you will have to remove the character deaths from your story. Sorry about your story but there is nothing any of us can do, this is a matter of site policy.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not thinking that anyone here can do anything about it, I know you can't. I was just hoping someone could explain what it means so that I can fix it.

I'm kinda confused about the death thing. I've read a few stories in that section where people die. One comes to mind where a guy got killed by a corpse. Perhaps the death can't happen during sex? Hmm..must revise. I've not written a story of this sort before-it just came to me. I don't even like horror films!

Snuff is an underground fetish. A 'snuff' film is often where a woman is raped and then killed when the male is done with her. I'm sure the site admins. do not want to encourage or open ppl to something like this. The characters in your story can die just not during the act of sex.

I do know what snuff is (yuck!)...it just didn't dawn on me that it wasn't allowed here. No biggie, like I said-I don't even know why I wrote it! It just came to me. Off to revise!

Thanks!

Usually when a story is rejected, the notice is worded ike that. "Did you proofread for misspellings, etc.?" "Was there excessive violence?" "Did the story involve bestiality?" I don't know why the administrators don't come out and sday something more like "We turned this story down for excessive violence", or other straightforward response, but this is their site.

Oh boy, then my latest submission about a couple getting surprised when their sex partners are werewolves is in big trouble.

Six characters get killed during sexual acts in my erotic horror, The Letting, but there wasn't loads of violence in it, and none of it gratuitous.

Did all the violence in your story move the plot forward/develop the characters further, and so on? If not, then maybe it was excessive. I don't know. It's impossible to know without actually reading the story.

Then again, all the characters that died in my story were men, does that make a difference? It's mad if it does.

Same as Lou, in both my Erotic Horror stories people die during the sexual act, in fact in the Halloween entry their soul is snatched at the point of climax.

It may bbe the way you tell them, just guessing.

Someones soul being taken at climax is not a violent death though. lilith's story is about demons, so they may have been killed violently. Someones soul being pulled out is not really 'snuff', some poor girl being ripped apart by a table leg sized cock is snuff.

To be more explanitory, while the main character is being fucked by the demons she see's one friend get killed after giving an unsatisfactory bj to a demon-he rips her heart out and eats it. She see's the other friends throat getting slit while fucking a demon.

Definitely snuff. If that would have occured to me, I would have taken it in another direction. Teach me to write a story like this one! I do better on things I know; like swinging, erotic letters, erotic couplings, loving wives, ect. Horror is not my forte. I need to revise this..I just don't have it in me at the moment. I'm thinking perhaps have her friends already dead and her realizing it would be acceptable.

After going to all the work of getting it ready to post. I would just edit out the parts about her two friends being killed. I would hate to have a story written go to waste, even if it has to have parts cut still.

My last two stories had rape scenes and death. Except in one the death occurred afterward by a freak accident and in the other the violent murder occured off-screen and the rest of the deaths were unattached to the sex and were told in single lines or less.

Probably why they were accepted.

Perhaps lessening the focus on the gore aspect and increasing the just shock aspect. Also, make sure you send it erotic horror.

I just did the revisions and re-submitted. I hope it is acceptable this time! :)

Yes, but the deaths of five of the six in my story was caused by their cocks being bitten off, just after their souls got ripped from their bodies. Definitely violent deaths. Like I said, though, they were men. Weird how we perceive the death of men at the hands of a woman differently from the other way around. Or, do we? I know I don't.

All the best with it, Lilith. Let us know how it goes!
