Regarding Lit Chat

As soon as you log in, a little window pops up directing you to http://literotica.us.tt to get a password. Any idea if this was from the Lit Admins or mabey the hacker thats been screwing with the chat recently?

I just tried logging in and that happened. I don't want to get hit by some hacker asshole. And theres nothing else in the forums or site announcments talking about it. Anyone know?

It usually just says thank you for logging in...then your onscreen id. Then a little line below about, wait...redirecting you to the forums.
 
Yeah I know, which is why its so strange. Plus once you go to the website, it asks you to download a .zip file. Hmmm. A .zip from albany.digi-net.com. Trying to check status on it now.
 
And the .zip is 120kb. That would be a very long password huh? Anyone find out anything besides me? I still havn't found out jack.
 
I had a password once, back in the day. I don't recall it being quite so complicated. I don't recall being directed other places either.
 
I just signed up for a new password, and it was all free and clear until I hit that little Java applet pop up window. I've never seen that before, and I find it to be very strange.

I think Admins need to post it on the main chat page before you log in as news. If they have not done so already. If Lit didn't put it there. Then its oviously malicious. Hopefully not to many people got harmed by it. If I can get proper virus control up, I'll scan the file, and find out what it is to make sure that if anyone got hit, we can help clear it up. Check in tomarrow.
 
I've not logged out of the board for about 4 weeks, so I've never seen it LOL
 
When I first discovered Lit had forums and chat I tried chat. It seemed juvenile to me and I didn't return.

I am shocked to hear someone has done this though.

Yeah well the chat is kinda Juvenile. But then agian its easier to carry on a conversation than in the forums. But the content in the forums is better. Kinda hard for me to see which is better heh. Just waiting for the admins to fix the chat, and hopefully catch the hackers.
 
I felt NO connection to anyone there.

In the best of all possible worlds if you are into chat, you chat with one or more other people that you do feel a connection with.

ATM, I'm so over chatting. I don't have the time either. But back in the day I was all over that and couldn't get enough. Of course a lot of the chat was role playing or cyber or both! LOL.

See with me, I don't usually cyber at all. I mean I'll talk about sexual experiences ect. But cyber usually dons't do anything for me. Now I've thought of mabey an online Dom, since its so hard to try and get ahold of one around my area. But I'm not sure at all how that would work out...
 
These problems are usually answered quicker and accurately by Manu or Laurel as they actually know what is and isn't supposed to be happening...a PM to them is answered and you then know if it is safe or not.:rose:

Yeah, but I didn't know who to contact at first. So I had just sent a "comment" from the "contact chat Mod" option. Worked out though.
 
There's a very similar thread over on the How To Forum that you might want to keep an eye on. Apparently people who follow this bogus link are told to download a large file that may have malicious or damaging content. Definitely best to stay well away until the problem has been resolved I think. I'm sure there'll be an official announcement asap.
 
Yep. I was going to install an anti-virus and then download and run the scan on the file. That way I could help people that got infected. But...My computer sucks.
 
By the way all. Any who care to join the chat. Its now up and running. No problems I can see. And best of all, no redirects.

If you don't cyber it might not work out well.

OTOH some can be happy just chatting and/or getting or demanding tasks performed.

Well I ment cybering in chat. If it was with a Domme that I got to know. I don't think I'd have a problem with it. :D
 
Just be careful. I once knew a lovely young man. We'd had a lot of fun getting to know one another but suddenly he told me he'd been talking to a Domme, his dream Domme. I wished him luck with it and gracefully let him go.

Then he contacted me all conflicted because she had demanded money before she would meet with him. I told him I thought it was crap but he had to make up his own mind about it. Later he confessed he had really messed up his mind prior to revealing the money demand but he was eventually able to see she was not in it for a sub but for money.

Some people are into money domination. Some are not. If you are fine. If you want to go with a pro that's fine too but some are using the internet to make money off of people who do not have an interest in financial domination. Some take advantage of the deep desire to have a Domme.

Yes sadly there are to many cons online today. As anyone that has spent 20 minutes online can tell you. Unfortunently it also spreads to areas like Doms/Dommes. I do appreciate the concern. I am looking our for myself for fakes and cons. Tis a sad thing.
