We have some English teachers on the board, I remember when one decided to start a thread about the misuse of spelling and grammar on this board. It erupted into a free for all, it seems requiring people to adhere do the standards of the English language if they don't want to be perceived as lazy or idiotic is 'elitist', 'discriminatory against non-English speakers' and 'crushes individuality'.

Or something to that effect.

science and math teachers are more likely to crack down on grammar, spelling, and puntuation (surprisingly, i've investigated this matter).

i GUESS i could throw a post in microsoft word before posting, but it's so time consuming.

what are my spelling mistakes? please give me some examples that i can see. that way i can tell if i was leaving typos or if i really was spelling incorrectly.

I'm an English teacher, but I don't think I have ever posted about someone's grammar skills or lack thereof. I don't teach English here. Why would I want to work on my off hours? I spend a good part of every day trying to convince 18-20 year olds that they might actually need to learn to write comprehensible English in order to be taken seriously in the professional world. This is, for many, a revolutionary and unwelcome revelation. And it's an exhausting uphill battle to get them to at least recognize the utility of syntax standardization (et al), much less make a serious attempt to learn something about it.
