The village was burnt to the ground. The only parts of the buildings that was recognisable was the parts made of stone. The Aenir had been very effective to not leave anything alive. No men, women or children had been permitted to live. Even the animals had been slaughtered, except for the live stock the soldiers decided to take for food. The burning buildings had been long estinguished but the scorched wood was still warm to the touch.

Covannan felt the burning of grief deep down his stomach when he saw the burned bodies of a child girl and a woman lying in the rubble of what once was the inn. The Aenir had been brutal in the cleansing and Cov remembered back at a time when he had been partly responsible for an massacre in another village many thousand miles away. Another war in another time, by another Empire.

This was Farlain lands and this was the first attack by the Aenir. They took the village by surprise. Even if they hadn't the Farlain villagers would not have stood a chance. Not these peaple. They were mostly farmers and animal handlers not the Clansmen higher up in the mountains. the Highlanders of Farlain was fierce warriors and Cov knew that they must know of the Aenir attack by now.

He had ran from his own peaple. driven by guilt and a search for something. Something he had lost many years ago, his soul. Covannan was 6'1 feet tall with an athletic body and white hair knotted in a ponytail. His skin was dark from the sun. He had numerous scars over his body, showing that he was a man of conflict. He wore a black leather tunic and leggings with metal to cover his fore arms and ancles. He had two scabbards strapped to his sides. In the scabbards was two black scimitars. He was an expert swordsman.

He sighed and went through the village with nothing more in his mind than to leave as quickly as he possibly could.
