from poets previously published in their online magazine. Enclosed please find the email I received. I know of at least one other poet here who has work there. PM? Your poetry rocks, hope to see you there again.
Dear Red River Review Poets
Bob McCranie and I have some very important announcement just for you.
First: the November issue went live yesterday. If you have a poem in that issue please stop by and check on your work. Let us know if we need to change or fix anything. As always italics still elude our software. This is one of the best issues we’ve done. We do hope you like it. Please note we have shut down the submissions window until Jan 1 so that I can concentrate on my other three jobs during the holidays. We will open back to submissions in January but only for the Anniversary issue, please see below.
Second: our next issue, February, will be our 50th issue. It’s been 14 years in the making and we want it to be awesome and we want it to reflect the fantastic poets who brought us to this point. So for our 50th Anniversary we will only take submission from poets that have already been published in RRR. When our submissions window reopens in January (see above), we want to hear from you. And the theme is Anniversary. Good, bad or indifferent, anniversaries roll around whether we want them to or not. Your poem can be about any type, happy or sad. And this is very important; please include in your submission the issue you were previously published in. I know most of you, but those that Bob published and that I have not worked with will pose a problem. I cannot look up everybody through 49 back issues.
Due to the holiday closure there will only be a one month window. So set your calendars and if you know someone who was previously published in RRR give them a nod. Over the years many of the e–mail addresses have been abandoned and we do want to try and contact all of you. A notice will go up in Duotrope so hopefully we’ll find all the lost poets.
Have a Happy and Safe Holiday Season and we’ll see you in the New Year.
