Recruiting Characters for Medieval Madness thread

As the title says i'm recruiting characters for a thread I will title "Medieval Madness"

The setting and such will kind of depend on who decides to play along, in order for me to start the thread I require/request the following.

1. One week of real time to pass, to allow everyone who wants to join to get an opportunity to post here. (Monday December 20th)

2. A minimum of six characters, 3 male, 3 female

3. Everyone to post their ideas and decided on exactly what type of character to play. I'm open to dwarves and elves and magic, but not so much that your characters persona over rides the thread.

4. Everyone's cooperation and agreement to write themselves out of thread rather than just disappear.

5. Once the thread has started new characters will need to post here or PM me so I can help weave them in.

And anything else you guys can think of, perhaps after watching Earthsea tonight I'll have a better idea but for now this is it. Ideas for my character coming soon.

I'd love to have the chance to join the play. And I think I've got a character idea that would work rather well.

Tawny is a young woman with druidic skills, minor ability to share basic communication with animals she is close with. In this case, it would be a red tailed hawk and a half-grown wolf hybrid.

In service to the King (if you don't have any particular kingdoms set I'll create one) she over sees his private hunting preserve. It's her duty to keep the forest free of poachers and to glean sick animals from the King's deer so that they cannot infect the rest of the herd.

Of medium, unremarkable height and dressed in brown and green leathers, she'd be slender and light muscled. Cropped reddish-brown hair, a dash of freckles across her nose and tanned skin.

the only problem with setting up a kingdom is that it creates a lot of NPCs so perhaps she could be sent on some sort of rescue mission to save some sort of rare exotic animal that the king wants to possess.....at least that's where my mind is going.

And that makes room for a really great idea. What aging King dosen't yearn for the key to immortality? It'd make perfect sense to send her off to hunt him down his very own unicorn. Perhaps it would even be a public reward for such, allowing for friendly and not so friendly competition.

So how about a changling of sorts......looks human most of the time but is an animorph so she can change into other animals as well, usually a large catlike creature. Her age would be late twenties maybe even 30, about 6' in height, long black hair ususally in a braid. She is muscled as an athlete, with golden eyes rimmed in violet. Her name is Raven, to those who know her.......she is alone in her tribe. The last of a long line of animorphs. The others admire her for her strength but also fear her for her demon like power. She is from a tribe that age slower than humans, although not as slowly as elves. She wears a tightly cut pale fawn jerkin and matching leather pants cut low revealing a hint of navel, her boots are knee high of course the same leather. Her green cloak and fawn outfit helps her to blend in and be unnoticed in the wilds. Unknown to most they protect the animals of the forests and seas. All possess some form of magic art or another from the lowliest farseer to the highest healer, and each has just a touch of the gift to speak/commune with the animals. The unicorns are in danger due to the kings command so she has been sent to stop the latest hunter.

I have an idea ..tell me if this works with your world.

I am a half-elven woman, a hired mercenary who will fight for the highest bidder. I travel the world working from town to town wherever needed.

I have long black hair, green eyes, am 5'8" tall and slender. I have mostly human features except for the ears and keen senses. I can see in very low light and hear extremely well. Most men think I am just a woman and underestimate me in a fight. I am a deadly swordswoman and an even deadlier lover. Many men have fallen in love with me, even some women, but my heart is cold as ice ... at least for now.

I wear a red leather jerkin (vest-like item), black tight breeches, Brown soft leather calf high boots (Very much swashbuckler look) I carry two short swords and a dagger in my boot. I ride a black stallion that I have named A'maeler, the elven word for "beloved one". He has been my friend for a long time, I rescued him from an ex-employer who was mistreating him and we have not been parted ever since.

Telereth Veratha

A half-demon male, appears to be totally human, roughly 6'2" tall, muscular, with chin length dark blonde hair. He is a dark knight of uncertain past, he pledged his life to the service of the King after a war fifteen years ago, and no one but the King knows where he comes from or why his oath was sworn. A solemn and dark individual. He wears a custom made suit of black platemail, with helmet shaped as a demon's head, and a long shadowsillk cape. He wields a long, curved blade similar to a katana, forged of an unknown dark metal. He moves with unnatural speed and precision in combat, striking down his foes before they can even react, and is widely believed to be the most deadly of the King's knights. His strength is also of near demonic proportions, able to hurl lesser men like rag dolls in battle, he wields his blade with both hands, making not only it's precision, but the raw force behind it deadly.

A few unknown features, due to his parentage (A demonic union) he has the ability to resist fire for a short period of time. In addition to having the ability to sense the desires and elevated sexuality of those around him, he has a near insatiable lust that he has strived to supress for most of his life. He has an unnaturally long life, and the ability to regenerate quickly. His blade is the blade of his father, the Hell Knight Galvalor, a blade of dark metal that infects its wounds with desire and lust.

I thought I'd submit a male character since there seems to be a small lack of enthusiasm in the department of male characters.

Tarran Kairlith- Paladin/Holy Knight 23 years old 6' 230lbs Short Black hair and piercing violet eyes

Taran is easily described as a war-horse. While he is only 23 years old he has seen his fair share of battles. He loves nature and animals, and is at heart a peaceful person. At age 4 he was oblated (given up) to a monastery of martial oriented monks (European type of monks, not asian). He was trained as a warrior after showing extreme aptitude with a sword. After many battles in the name of the holy one, Tarran was left confused. He was taught about moral piety, and told that yearnings of the flesh were unnatural. He didn't feel that way and struck out on his own to see what else life had to offer.

I had a thought today, would anyone object to me playing the part of the unicorn?

I recall a movie (cartoon I think) as well as some books by Piers anthony that had the unicorn having a human form.

If so that might explain their rarity as they can hide better, however I might blend in some interesting mythology along with my character.

My thoughts so far as follows

Name Valondra, telepathic in both forms, her telepathy is limited to humans and other unicorns in her human form, and to animals in her unicorn form. She goes through heat in unicorn form but can avoid it by switching to human form, of course her human form also experience heat but not as intensely as her unicorn self.
In human form she would have pale skin, and silver white hair, and eyes that seem to look into your soul of indeterminate color. Human form appears as an innocent young maiden.

Both forms anyone who does not have a pure heart is unable to touch her.

Intrigue dearheart I believe the movie is called " The Last Unicorn" her voice was done by Mia Farrow, and she was transformed into a human by a friendly wizard to save her from the red bull. Her human name is Amalthia

Oh and the name is my Character is Raven.

of course if the unicorn were somehow tainted or corupted by mortal desires her virtue would be stained and therefore her protective innocence diminished.

I was thinking of how the unscrupulous characters would need an innoncent to trap her or figure out a way to corrupt her purity, of course through interacting with those who wish to protect her, her own innocence may be comprimised.

Marcus looks to be about twenty-five, but he is centuries old. He is an Arch-Mage. He commands the natural forces of nature and my change his appearence to look as young or old, strong or weak, as he pleases (hence the look of a 25 year-old).
He has a familiar in the form of an eagle sized phoenix (imagine that) who is his constat companion and scout.
