KaosuMakoKino and myself have been brainstorming some ideas for an RP set in the Star Wars universe.
He came up with the concept of setting it on an unknown planet populated by a sentient species that is entirely force sensitive. As we discussed this wonderful idea, we decided to have a jedi padawan and a sith apprentice crash land in the Unknown regions, in a planet where everyone is force sensitive, and they must now navigate this planet's political web.
We've decided that it would be better if one of us controlled the sith, and any crew or allies that might have survived the crash with them, one controls the jedi and their allies, and a third person to control the native characters.
Thus, we are now recruiting!
We are still in the process of getting all the details down for the setting, so you will be part of the brainstorming process. We also haven't decided who controls what faction, so if you don't want to write the natives' characters, the jedi and sith are up for grabs still.
So far, here's what we've decided:
-This planet's population mostly views the Force as an energy source, like electricity, and they don't particularly distinguish between the Dark and Light Side. The Force powers most of their technology, and isn't really viewed as a spiritual thing by most people.
-Their technology and political map are comparable to ours shortly after the Industrial Revolution. There are many different nations, but for the RP, only two or three will probably be relevant, and their relations are strained. Their peace can hardly be called harmonious.
-The land between the different nations is dangerous and/or inhospitable, but bandits and marauders live there, assaulting trade routes and such.
-Other ideas that have been suggested: some sort of secret organization trying to control everything from the shadows; a religious machine-cult that worships the Force as a manifestation of God, and things powered by it as holy; other off-worlders might be alive amongst the bandits of the "wildlands"; the sources of danger in the "wildlands" could be some sort of Force anomalies, like the cave on Dagobah, making people go mad or simply tearing them apart.
If you're at all interested in this project, go ahead and leace a reply here, or shoot us a PM! Be warned, some reasonable knoedge of the Expanded Universe might be useful. Not necessary, but useful for the sake of familiarity with other takes on the Force by other civilizations.
