Have to give the con artist credit. He loves outdoing Obama. Last year he did it again. $891.3 billion trade deficit against the world. The largest ever.

His strong dollar policies has made it more expensive for people overseas to buy U.S. goods, and his massive wealth transfer last year, which requires the U.S. to borrow more money to pay its bills which in turn means the deficit and debt are also soaring, along with his "easily winnable" trade war, have helped to exacerbate the issue. Last year, the trade deficit expanded by 12.5% over the previous year.

The United States also imported a record amount of goods from China last year, despite Mr. Trump’s trade war with China and the imposition of tariffs on $250 billion worth of Chinese goods. The trade gap in goods between the United States and China hit $419 billion in 2018, deepening a bilateral deficit that has been a particular source of anger for Mr. Trump.

As his businesses repeatedly fail, so we all now must endure the same failures.

What is this massive wealth transfer you keep speaking of from last year?

It’s to my understanding the trade deficit has nothing to do with “the president”. It has everything to do with the consumer. Americans are finicky and like buying cheap Chinese shit. And since America imports more than it exports, hence the trade deficit. Some things are only made in China these days, but if people looked hard enough, they could spread their hard earned money to other areas besides just China.

Trade wars aren’t “easy to win” like Trump said, but if showed the world China isn’t the force to be reconed with and was pretty vulnerable since their economy is slowing. One day America will see the only way to bring China to their knees on important issues is to create enough social unrest among its population they’ll feel a need to change.
Heaven forbid the Chinese have to find a way to deal with an aging work force or 250 million people unemployed.🌷Kant💋

When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win. Example, when we are down $100 billion with a certain country and they get cute, don’t trade anymore-we win big. It’s easy!

You want "vulnerable"? The Chinese executed a surgical strike on core Trump voters with a tariff on soybeans. Soybean farmers, who voted overwhelmingly for Trump, saw millions of acres of soybeans rot in the field for lack of Chinese buyers last year. Average soy farmer income took a 15% dive last year, it's expected to be a 30% drop this year.

Remember yesterday when you lectured us on "Taxes Bad"? Did you know that Trump's dept of agriculture gave out free tax dollars...those taxes you hate to pay!!!.... to soy farmers to lessen their pain somewhat? But that well has run dry too, and now that the adults (Democrats) control the House, it's unlikely that gravy train will be refilled anytime soon.

If you truly think China can be brought to their knees via tariffs you are beyond reason.

Stupid republicans....it isn't Trumps fault. How is that soybean market? How is that corn market? How is every agricultural market? Hold out for the tariffs to work...meanwhile...in the real world, Canada says thank you...we will take that market. Australia says thank you, Brazil says thank you, Argentina says thank you. Collectively, these countries produce more than the US. Do you think you are going to force the market share back into the US farmers control? How? By subsidizing the products? So basically, the tax payers pay more. Fucking brilliant. And the trumpsters here claim to be business geniuses. No fucking way.

Spoken like the true moron you are. A trade deficit is the literal reverse of what you said.

I know

I made a mistake

I wrote in haste

By us buying their shit

They have $ dollars

They buy our T Bills and Bonds and pay for our debt

I made a mistake

I am a complete idiot

By us buying their shit

They have $ dollars

They buy our T Bills and Bonds and pay for our debt

Thanks, Professor, but we already know this.

Read my comment again. I said create social unrest, not anything about tariffs.

So you can't explain that, must be the TDS talking.

It's a damn shame too. We should have never done that socialist bullshit in the first place and this wouldn't be happening.

They can't even manage a soybean market and you want to give them totalitarian control over ALL the things.

Who gives a fuck? The welfare queens need to be better farmers or beat rocks.

How is every agricultural market?

Depends, markets that aren't being actively fucked with by the government are doing great. :D

Farmers who follow Rule#1 of agriculture 'Don't put all your eggs in one basket' are going to do juuuuuust fine ;)

Hold out for the tariffs to work...meanwhile...in the real world, Canada says thank you...we will take that market. Australia says thank you, Brazil says thank you, Argentina says thank you. Collectively, these countries produce more than the US.

And they deserve it. If the US can't support those markets or in the case of (D)'s wants to regulate them out of the country then they need to go.

Do you think you are going to force the market share back into the US farmers control? How? By subsidizing the products? So basically, the tax payers pay more. Fucking brilliant. And the trumpsters here claim to be business geniuses. No fucking way.

LOL you've got the Democrat economic ideas confused with the Republicans.
