I can't think of any .
But there should be some .
Are there any ?

I haven't trusted any politicians in more years then I like to think about. I've yet to see one who fails to screw something up or try to spin doctor their screw ups.

I think lumping a whole professional group together like that is naive and juvenile. In Trump's case, he falsely claimed he isn't a politician (he first indicated interest in running for president two decades ago), but he's in a class all himself in being vile in every conceivable sense. (As are the dopes who at least pretended not to be able to see through him.)

It's not really lumping a whole group together when you look at WJC/HRC and Bush. Obama was pretty untrustworthy as well. Trump? Nope, different label same thing, opportunistic and self serving whenever possible. What you keep ignoring is a lot of people voted for the jerk because HRC and what the Democratic party had going on looked far worse. But everyone has an opinion and some think there's is the only one that matters.

I'll take making a statement like "I haven't trusted any politicians in more years then I like to think about" as not lumping a whole group together as some sort of exercise in alternative facts.

I'm sure you think you're the only honest person alive and can do everyone else's job better than they can. That goes with making such sweeping generalizations about groups of people.

Nope, I'm just as flawed a human being as anyone else here but I try to do my best to be polite and civil about things. Your more then welcome to any opinions you like and can be just as disagreeable as you like.

OK, that's fine, though I wasn't the one making a sweeping condemnation of a whole profession of people--who somehow deliver an amazing array of services that make your complex life possible and do so while being bad mouthed in totalistic, sweeping generalizations of simplistic terms as you did. ;)

He can hit a golf ball so far, only his specially-trained caddy can find it.

Strange ,none of the GOP can think of a reason to respect Trump .

In general, Pilot is right. Lumping a whole professional group together into one "they all suck" category is kind of lame. BUT... tnman is also right. I'll go a step further to add another professional group - lawyers. This is especially important because the majority of the bigger names in politics got their start by being lawyers.

As a group, both politicians and lawyers are theiving assholes that deserve no trust because they hold the almighty dollar and their jobs above truth and freedom. Although the movie is fiction and the lead actor (in real life) disgusts me, Jim Carey in Liar Liar pretty much sums it up. Many politicians get their start by being that person and it only gets worse as they get promoted. They do deserve some grudging respect for how well they have built their careers, but they also deserve disgust for what they have become.

<shaking away the grrrr moment and getting back on topic>

Trump didn't get my vote, but I do respect his ability to hang in and keep running despite all the hate that was thrown at him from day one. To get to the place where he was in his business dealings, he had to be a politician who wasn't a politician. There's always "politics" in doing business, as much as I hate it, and he knows how to play that game, which helped him get into office. I also respect that he didn't seem to change his visions and ideas too much. Yes, he flip-flopped a few times and toned down some of his extreme ideas, but his end position was still on-track with his original statements.

Unlike the massive majority of any other newly elected politician, so far he's keeping his promises!!! To me, that's a huge surprise from a politician, but I'm not really shocked. I do respect that in his few days in office that he has shown he has an interest in keeping the promises he made on the campaign trail. Bills and orders signed, discussions moving forward on other topics, and it sure looks to me like the swamp has sprung a leak.

I don't agree with all of his ideas, but for now, the man has my respect. From my perspective I think he's shown integrity, even in the face of the highly vocal minority who are screaming about the sky falling.

This is why: Trump doing what he promised

He's not afraid to stand up for what America believes in, despite the liberal hate-fest towards him.

Then there are people who claim to work for the CIA and to be good smut writers.

It's hilarious you think he's not a hateful person. His ego can't stand being made fun of or looking bad which is why he's flogging the dead horse of Hillary getting more votes than he did. He's fuming more people voted for a woman than him, and it was Hillary to boot.

The elite billionaire from New York City is living up to his con artist name and reputation.
