The setting:

There is a parallel world to our own. Were many races live in various kingdoms, ruled mostly by magic though there is some science.

Elves:
The kingdom of elves includes more than our pointy eared friends, but all the normal and usually good creatures of Fairie. Sprites, nymphs, dyads, gnomes and other spirits. Not all friendly but most are fairly decent and normal folk. .
Humans:
You know what these people are like already just think more medieval setting.

Sidhe:
the darker side to Fairie, these are more your nasties, but overall they ignore everyone and mind their own business living their lives like we do, just don’t tend to have a strong liking for Elves and Humans
Dragons:
Dragons, big lizards that breath fire, this kingdom has several races from small ones hardly larger than the length of your pinky finger to the huge ones of legend that are intelligent and wise. They can vary from mean to sweet.
Vampires:
besides humans these are the main beginning characters of this rp, not your normal vampires these can eat and drink like everyone else. In fact they seem more closely related to the Sidhe courts. Only the got so numerous that they formed their own kingdom. They do drink blood, but not exclusively and weather they leave victim alive after is strictly a case by case scenario, after all it doesn’t do to waist slaves or food, don’t want to go out hunting like animals.
They also tend to be on the sick side, ‘playing’ with their slaves and such. Very war like race since they made such a market of slavery that they ran out of ones in their area and have to raid the other kingdoms for fresh blood (for breeding stock and own pleasures)
Also as a note, you aren’t made a vampire but are born one. Being bit just means you are a buffet not a new recruit.

More story:

Currently the vampires have been having problems getting new slaves and the supply has been wearing thin. A mage among the vampires has discovered a way to tear a ‘gate’ into the veils between realms and they have started raids on other worlds.

Thus they come to ours. After a single raid in several areas they decide that with the problems of casting magic in our world that’s it too much trouble to mess with. So they make the one raid, carry off as much loot and slaves as they can (as well as leave a huge trail of bloody corpses) and close the gate behind them on the way home.

So anyone that they take here is never going to come back home without having to learn how to make gates themselves. But humans don’t do magic well and few others will be interested in helping since humans aren’t really high on the popularity votes in their world.

Cast:

Current Cast is as Follows

Lacy: Played by myself.

Prince Valhur: This dude in charge of the raid on our world, he’s actually the High Prince, being he’s the emperor’s son, heir to the high throne and not just one of the many Princes that are heirs or title holders for the lower clans and families of vampires in the kingdom. (played by nightray, further details will be posted as he thinks of them.)

Invent a character and join in and have fun, this is a open RP for everyone.

EDIT
Still many more places for peopel to come in. Needing vampires as well as more humans elves and any other race. Feel free to join!!!
END EDIT

In the Beginning

There was no warning, no way to know or predict what happened.

I was minding my own business enjoying my first visit to the Chicago Comic Con, browsing the racks of magna’s and wall scrolls of a booth watching klingons, ring wraiths and various anime and TV characters brought to life in the people walking by around me.

I hated crowds but since I spent the 50 bucks to get in I wanted a souvenir to take home to prove I had come, and I wasn’t going to stand in line for hours waiting to get the autograph of one of the writers, actors, and other celebrities with the four hour long lines around them.

I was bartering over the price of a Trigun wall scroll when the screaming started. I was just looking around a corner when a man with unusually good medieval armor smiled a wide and bloodied smile at me, dropping the body of a young girl dressed in a sailor moon fuku to the floor. Drawing a long and contraband broadsword he made a lude gesture my direction.

So I did what any sane red blooded American would do in my situation. I bumped the Dragon Ball Z glass display case over his pretty black haired head and ran like the dickens!

And right into another armored dude with a sword who just turned after taking out the little guy at the booth I just got my wall scroll from. I found myself in a vice-like grip as he smiled at me licking overly realistic fangs clean of blood.

“Aren’t you cute, wonder if you taste as sweet as you look?” he asked a little shocked and very put out over the fact that while he held me in a choke hold with one large armored hand his other was taking a few liberties below the waistline. With a growl I grabbed his wrist in a way I found always made someone loose their grip and lashed out with a steel toe guarded redwing boot to the crotch. He dropped me as his eyes rolled and fell his head striking the corner of the booth and taking care of him ever getting up again and bothering me.
A hiss behind me and a cry of “HUMAN BITCH” was all the warning I needed before the broadsword, too large and heavy for me to wield correctly but not heavy enough to prevent me from sending it flying and cutting into the other man between the belt and armor stomach plate. I knew there was likely a real name for it but armor was my little sister’s department and she was home right now taking care of the apartments the two of us ran back in Arkansas.
Were I was really beginning to wish I was as I ducked through fleeing and fighting crowds of people and armored psycho vampires.

(OOC: Pm me for more info, got a rough storyline, but will let things run pretty much as it will)

Here goes nothing. (By the way, nice pic)

Name: Siegfried der Vakhen
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Height: 6'1"
Build: Athletic, slightly bulky
Hair: Short, brown-blonde
Eyes: Blue-green
Attire: Full chain mail from neck down, followed by woolen tunic and breeches, followed by breastplate, gauntlets, and iron boots.
Bio: Siegfried hails from the alternate dimension. He grew up as the son of a knight, which he too took up, until discovering that the court was not for him. He then became somewhat of a freedom fighter, working for no man, travelling the world and doing good wherever he went. Soon followers started flocking to him, and so he started up his group, the Knights with no Banner.

Siegfried has many shady contacts throughout the world, even amongst vampires, and so he received a tip-off to their plan to venture to the other world. He and his small band of men rode immediately to the site of the Gate, but were disgusted to find that the vampires had already gone through. Settling for the next best thing, the group set up an ambush, ready for when the vampires come back...

Need vampires.. and humans at the con, some short bloody battling going on there, then looks like we've some more great fights coming when the vamps retreat with the loot! LOL

*is having tremendious fun*

BLURP

*just to keep it up for a moment, in hopes to draw a couple people at least*

OOC: This character is cannon fodder, just to get the story moving along.

I was standing in line waiting to get an autograph from Michael Dorn, when this big guy in a really nice suit of armor draws a contraband sword and starts swinging it without care. The guy in front of me has his head split in two. All I can do is stare in horror as the sword is brought crashing down on my own head.

Lacy ducked through teh paniced crowds, people shouting and screaming running everywere as men in armor sliced through the people and carried many away throwing them in cages that where now being filled with people. Lacy ducked under a arm that tried to grab her and kicked out at an armored man, seeing his knees unprotected she slammed her feet into his kneecaps tumbling him down and then grabbed his sword swinging it out at another man in armor behind her the blade stuck into the shoulder blood arching out over her arms and face and shef felt someone grab her from behind

"HUMAN BITCH!"

she was getting tired of hearing that....

But there was suddenly another vioce, another man calling a halt before a blade found it's way into more than a small line of blood.

Then someone struck her from behind nad she was out cold.

~~~~
She awoke and stared through bars. stuffed into a small cage set away from the large wheeled pens.
She blinked, this wasn't Chicago.... Not with all the tree's...
Siegfried
OOC) Hey, that's good. I was expecting that to go a bit longer, and I wouldn't get into the story so quick. But that's cool.
IC) Siegfried watched on from his hiding place perched on a low tree branch as the vampires once more came into view. With them were a number of small, steel cages filled with humans much like himself and the majority of his men. Though a few of the members of the Knights with no Banner were elves and their kind, their rebellious nature much more suited humans, and so at least 90% of the band were humans. And not just men; he was surprised by the amount of women that had joined his group over the years.
Focusing back on the task at hand, Siegfried slowly brought the horn that would signal the attack to his lips. Keeping it silent for the moment, he looked at the enemy ranks. Their numbers were very similar to his own attack group; they had the advantage of strength and equipment (The Knights' nature generated little cash in flow, so they were mostly poorly armed, giving them more of a bandit's look than a knight's), but Siegfried's knights had the advantage of surprise. An even battle then.
Should be interesting then thought Siegfried, always ready and willing for a challenge. He cast one last look over at his men on the other side of the path, before letting the horn blow, and with one, long bellow, his men screamed out of the forest and descended upon the vampires in a frenzy.
"For Good!" Siegfried screamed as he pulled out his hand-and-a-half bastard sword, before quickly scrambling down the trunk of the tree. He dropped down the last few feet, before instantly charging into the fray.
The vampires could do nothing to defend themselves on the first charge, and Siegfried quickly struck one down, instantly looking for his next victim as his first fell silently, blood pouring from the wound in his chest. He saw that his men had already taken down a decent number of the vampires. Good... that could make all the difference... he thought, just before raising his sword to defend from his next challenger's attack.
Siegfried
OOC: Well, no one else is posting, so I may as well get this moving a bit more :)
IC: Two, three strikes Siegfried parried. Damn, this vampire was fast. But his attack was reckless; it was clear, from the openings he left, that he was not as experienced in battle as Siegfried was. It was just a matter of time, until... there!
The vampire slowed just a little, and Siegfried seized his chance. He brought his sword around in a one-handed horizontal arc aimed at the vampire's chest. The vampire managed to block it, but it left him completely open, and Siegfried's free hand came flying out, and his gauntlet contacted the vampire's nose... and heavily. With a sickening crunch, the vampire dropped his sword and clutched his nose, and with a single stroke, Siegfried sent his opponent's head flying. It bounced once before coming to rest, right next to one of the cages, which had been left unguarded as the vampires scrambled to meet the attack.
"Death to our enemies!" Siegfried screamed, and flew forward to dispatch a vampire that was troubling one of his men. As his sword plunged deep into the fiend's back, Siegfried gave another yell, withdrawing the sword and letting the bloodied body collapse to the ground. With just a moment for a thankyou from the man he had just saved, the two warriors turned and joined the battle once more.
Galen Silverbow
I watch from the edge of the forest as the vampires return through the gate with slaves. The rumors are true, they have learned to create gates between worlds. As the vampires come back through I witness the Knights with no Banner attack. What Little of the battle I stay to watch is brutal to say the least. The Elvish King must here of this.
I start my long journey back to his kingdom in the forest, no one can track me in the woods, as I run through the trees.
OOC:
5'10" tall, slender build that disguises his strength, about 165#, blonde hair, violet eyes
He is a common soldier in the service of the elf king, a scout so to speak.
Lacy woke when something smashed intot he cage she had been thrown into. She grabbed the bars of the small container and hung on as she watched the larger cart tipped over and the poeple inside escaing through the opening, there were other carts of people as well, but she was alone, to the side and ... guarded?
She was suprised and figuring she must be imagining it.
She got ahold of a pole and tripped up someone so that the person attacking the vampire could squewer him with hsi sword. She winced as hot blood hit her..
Siegfried
After finishing off the fallen vampire, Siegfried knealt down beside the cage, his eyes locking with the young woman that had made the kill so easy.
"Thank you, milady... you will be free soon." he spoke in a rushed tone, and giving her no chance to respond, he stood back up and moved in to attack another vampire. One, two, three quick strikes and parries, before another of Siegfried's men finished off the vampire from behind. The Knights' tactics were not befitting off those who called themselve's knights, but it got the work done, and as Siegfried made sure the vampire was dead with a quick beheading, he turned to see that his men had killed all the vampires that had made up the defence. It was with regret, though, that Siegfried's eyes fell upon many dead Knights, and as many wounded. Only a handful had escaped the battle unscathed.
"Sieg... the wounded..." spoke one of those who had survived the battle. The man was drenched in blood.
"Gather them... oh dear god... take the others and gather them. Those who are beyond hope, put them out of their misery. The others... pile them onto a cart and take them to Nissen... it is a short ride from here. I will take care of freeing these prisoners. We will meet again at the hideout, as soon as possible." Siegfried commanded, before pulling the man into a hug. "May the Light give you speed, Marhelm."
"And to you, Sieg." the other man said, before commanding the other men. As they went about their gruesome task, Siegfried searched over the bodies of the fallen vampires for the keys to the cages. The people in the cages were acting in many different ways; some were screaming and hammering against the cages, others were simply staring at Siegfried in disbelief. Finally he decided something must be done. After getting the keys he searched for, he stood up and held his hands out towards the people.
"People, people! Quiet!" He called in a booming voice, instantly silencing all those in the cages. "This may be hard to believe, but... this world is not your own. These..." he kicked one of the vampire's corpses. "...are vampires, and, if it weren't for our intervention, you would have all been made either slaves or food. We are still in their lands, so I suggest that you comply entirely and silently with me. I am the leader of this band of warriors, known as the Knights with no Banner, and my name is Siegfried. I will free you now, and then we shall make our way to our hideout. Once we arrive I will be able to tell you more. Any questions?" Siegfried asked. The people in the cages seemed to be even more surprised than ever, but just as silent.
Just as Siegfried was about to unlock the cages, a child's voice called out, "I want to go home!", and Siegfried sighed.
"I... don't know how to return you to your home. But if you come with me, we may be able to work something out."
And with that, he unlocked the first of the cages.
Lacy watched the guy who's men killed or drove off the vampires. She could sitll hear the retreat fading into the distance.
She remembered looking up briefly though and seeing.. Someone, he seemed different somehow and not by beauty. But he was a vampire like th eothers and with a grim look called the retreat.
Now the man that had the keys were opening the cages and she wondered why she had been in a cage seperate from the others. As she watched she felt vaguelly sick at seeing all the bodies. So very many bodies, not just of the force that attacked and the vampires.
But poeple from her world too, the cage that fell over and the poeple that scattered, some had taken up weapons and faught to defend the fleerers. ANd she had seen in the distance that not all of those got away as the vampires either slaughtered them or drug them off with them now.
She wanted to throw up. Too much, there had been too much in too short a time and her hands shook violently she felt the panic attack coming on and huddled in her cage trying to calm herself since her purse was missing, thus her medications
It hit her, I'm in another world, isn't that an elf over there? But... this can't be real and were's my meds? her mind blubbered and she shook it to try and regain her thoughts. With a long sigh she looked at the top of the cage twords the darkening sky rather than the feild of battle tried to ignore the blood on the ground and on her as well.
She wanted to go home, but then... most likely did all the people getting out of the cages. Some in so much shock they had to go in and drag them out. She hoped the key for her cage was on that ring.
Why had she been seperated from the others like this? She certainly wasn't the only one captured that put up a fight.
She desided not to think to hard on it.
Niel
Somewhere in all the confusion of the battle, the cage he was in had been tipped over, spilling its prisoners out. He rolled away from the cage and got up to see the others fleeing. But the battle was still going on around them, and some of them were killed as they ran.
Looking around, Niel spotted the fallen body of one of their captors nearby, a sword lying on the ground near its hand. Seeing another of the creatures coming toward him, he picked up the sword and defended himself.
-----------
When it was all over, he looked in shock at the bodies littering the ground, even more surprized by the fact that some of them had been killed by him. He hadn't even been thinking, just acting on instinct. He suddenly felt very tired.
He walked over to where their rescuers were freeing the remaining captives. Their leader was saying something.
"...this world is not your own..."
He didn't think he could be surprised again. Apparently he was wrong. But after all that had just happened, it didn't seem that unbelievable.
Galen Silverbow
I reach the Elf King's palace without encountering any trouble. I am quickly escorted inside to make my report to him. I bow to my liege lord when I am in front of him.
"My Lord, the rumors are true. The vampires have learned to make gates to other worlds. They brought back human slaves, but were attacked by the Knights with no Banner upon their return to this world. I don't know which side won the battle, My Lord.
"Find the humans that were brought into this world by the vampires and bring them before me." says King Raed Highbow.
"Yes My Lord" I reply. Quickly I turn and leave on my new mission. 'Why does the King want to see these humans?' I think to myself as I leave.
Lacy sat with her back against the bars of her cage and beated upon those opposite of her with her foot wishing someone woudl let her out. She wanted to be OUT, her legs were cramping in this tiny cage.
THough for her, why had she been put in a seperate cage? Like a trouphy... Her mind rattled around that question, she was NOT a beauty, nor did she have any special skills, she was just a chick, a normal gal well one with migrains
That thought led to a discovery.
Her migrain was gone, the constnat pounding headache that had ben her bane since puberty was gone.
She started banging the cage again hoping htey weren't going to forget here here.
Galen Silverbow
I leave the palace and head straight back into the forest. It would take me a few hours to return to the site of the battle. Who had won? Were the prisoners still alive? Would I have to track them?
Effortlessly I ran through the woods. I was silent as I ran to find the captives. I had my bow, 60 arrows, and a a mithril sword with me.
Tiranna
OOC: Tiranna is of royal elven decent and has rebelled by becoming a warrior for freedom.
IC: I awoke from the horrible sleep upon the ground where I was left by those horrible beast. My arm was numb with pain and I smelled blood, My blood. My entire body ached. When i lokked again I could see the wounds from where the vampires had fed and chewed. I did not care. The battle was not won and I was alive to see the damage.
i picked myself from where I lay in the middle of the road not far from where the caged prisioners were held. My sword and shield lay not far from me since i fought to keep them with me whilse being drug down the road.
I fixed my cloathing th best I could to cover my breasts and headed down the road to help the others I knew would be cleaning up. I steped out into the clearing to see a terrible sight. Bodies everywhere strew from cages and slaves wandering in awe. I watched as a knight addressed the people.
Soon behind me I heard footsteps. I drew my sword in defense thinking that the creatures were backbut there from the woods emerged Galen with his sturdy bow.
"Galen, it's you" as I collapse with dizzyness into his arms
Galen Silverbow
I catch Tiranna, the Elvish King's niece, as she slumps forward. She is overcome by her wounds. I gently lay her down and start to bandage her wounds. I cannot let her die. I could never face the King again if I did.
After I finish with the bandages, I look to see the prisoners being freed by the knights. I look for Siegfried amonst the other Knights. I finally find him checking on the survivors.
"Siegfried, King Raed of the elves wishes to see the prisoners you have freed from the vampires" I say to the knight.
Lacy began yelling shaking thebars of her cage, it looked like she'd been forgotten by the bodies of dead.
She wnated out! before she was really sick, the site of oozing blood and dead cold faces was really begining to get to her phsycy
Niel
As the warriors freed the prisoners and carried away the wounded, Niel saw someone they hadn't noticed yet. She was in a smaller cage alone, shouting to be set free.
Niel walked over to her cage. "Hold on, I'll get you out." He began hacking at the rusty lock with his sword, breaking it after a few tries.
Lacy crawls greatfully oput of the cage, "thanks man" she steps faticiously around the bodies littering the ground and paled at the site that seemed different when she got up and the smells hit her more forcefully.
"Gawd...." and she passes out cold
Niel
He caught her as she fainted. "I know how you feel," he said. The sight and smell of death all around them was getting to him too. If his mind wasn't half numb he'd have passed out already.
Dropping the vampire sword, he lifted her into his arms and carried her over to where Siegfried and the others were gathered.
Siegfried
"Enough blood for one day." Siegfried declared with a sigh as everything seemed to happen at once. He looked first to the elven messenger.
"The king of the elves, you say?" he asked, the elf nodding slowly.
It was true that the elves were no friend of the Knights with no Banner... few were... but the fact that the elves had an interest in these survivors was somewhat intriguing. The creatures barely ever got involved with the realm's conflicts. Perhaps the mystical elves knew a way of getting these people back to their home world?
"Very well... guide us to your king." Siegfried then turned to the people who had come out of the cages. All the cages now were empty. He noticed that some of the humans had picked up weapons during the chaos.
"Friends, carry any weapons you can find. You will no doubt need them in this land. I know you may feel confused, but I feel that you have to trust me. And if it came down to it," Siegfried tapped the sword strapped to his back, "I am sure I am better with a sword than any of you." he noticed some of the folk getting a little uneasy. "Relax, folk. It is just a warning, not a threat. Now, there has been a change of plans. We are to follow our friend, here." he said, gesturing to Galen. He then turned to the elf.
"By the way, I never caught your name, messenger?"
Tiranna
I awake to find myself bandaged and laying with the other wounded. the elven medicines were stong but could not heal the pain. I walk towards the others who are ready to move. i would fight with them and lend my aid in need.
"My sword and skills are yours if you need" Calling over to Seigfried. " I fought with you in this battle and I intend to see it through." my voice a bit shaky from the pain but still strong and unnerved
