I have an idea about the shipwreck theme which I haven't found before. How about a story where a group of people are shipwrecked or stranded away from civilization and they're pretty uncomfortable with the situation. Adding to their difficulties is the fact that they don't have the basic comforts we take granted like clothes, underwear, toilet paper, running water, sanitary napkins /pads, birth control etc.

The story is about how they are forced to accept the reality of the situation, about how their defenses are broken down, how they're forced to give up privacy and change their living habits and how they manage in a natural setting without any of the above things we use in everyday life.

It would be a mix of themes such as voyeur, exhibition, fetish (mild scat, menstruation), incest, group sex, loving couples etc.

I like the device of putting characters in unusual circumstances.

The challenge may be managing a realistic build up through the transition without having too slow a pace to building interest (i.e. building a hook while not having people just toss aside the clothes they have on or can scavenge.) Also, I think I've read that human seeking of privacy for sexual conduct is a function of evolutionary hardwiring (i.e. it will not change with circumstance, easily- as opposed to cultural traits which may), and people would likely develop a privacy approach because comfort level with toilet functions is minimal (i.e. I think a large segment of the population could adjust to being nudists in a reasonably short time, but hardcore nudists don't necessarily want to see someone take a crap.)

There are plenty of possibilities, however.

Good luck.

Sort of a orgy consisting of "Lord of the Flies" meets "The Blue Lagoon" meets "Swiss Family Robinson" meets "Castaway" ;)

It sounds like a fantastic theme for a story, at least I like the sound of the first paragraph. The people shipwrecked - in my wicked mind - would be five married couples and their teenage daughters (a legal 18, to keep the moralistic church ministers of the site happy). I would let them have the comforts that you mentioned, minus the birth control pills.

The problem that I would hamper upon them would be their inability to survive the harsh conditions. Enter the natives, dark as coal with an eye for the beautiful white ladies.

Will the shipwrecked men be prepared to share the bodies of the women & daughters that they love in order to survive? Sounds like they have little choice. Will the ladies fall for the handsome black natives? That will be up to you, creative ones!

That's exactly what I had in mind. Just the shipwrecked people themselves - no outsiders or natives etc. Its about building their lives from scratch, but with a very adult perspective!

Okay, but this isn't a short story. Also why have scat (gross) and why have incest?

A shipwreck is a perfect opportunity for some great erotic stories. I would leave out the hygiene problems, lack of birth control and the like. It is a story after all, not everything needs to be explained. The search for food, water and shelter will give the characters enough problems to create a believable quest for survival.

On the sex part I think it is important to know the limits of a believable story. Not everyone can end having sex with everyone else by default. If you have to write a believable character development on top of the battle for survival, I think it might end being too much story, not enough sex.

Anyway, a story like this can go in all kinds of directions depending on who gets stranded. The smaller the group, the easier it probably is to write it. But a smaller group also limits your options. A couple suggestions can be:
2-3 couples who know each other already. They hired a sailboat for a holiday and that obviously didn't end well
a group of young students (18-20 year old) on a school trip. With the usual hormones of that age group, sex is a lot more believable than any other situation.
a random group with each chapter being written from the point of view of 1 person. So you can have the couple on honeymoon making the best of the situation under the nearby waterfall. The 18 year old cheerleader accidentally spying on them. Her classmate that has a crush on her. And basically whatever character you might need.

I remember something on TV a good number of years ago, when some people were "shipwrecked" on an uninhabited island, complete with the TV crew. Life was so harsh for them & the survival such a struggle, that sex was the last thing on their minds

well, this idea quickly become “survivor” with money and status worthless. What does one have to trade? There will some that can fish, some that can find fruits and vegetables. So many places for this story to go.

Its on my todo list

This gave me the idea of a story where a military plane crashes with 8-10 survivors, with a roughly equal mix of men and women, both enlisted and officers of different ages. They don't know whether they will be rescued in a few hours or a few weeks or when, but they're certain they will eventually be rescued.

Because they're in the military, they would have to maintain that line of professionalism, but over time, their physical needs may overpower their sense of duty, some sooner than others.

I think a story like this could have some potential for interesting plots, like if a female officer was with one of the younger enlisted men or vice versa.
