Reads on unposted stories

I have a story in the que waiting for approval. It says "pending" and had 2 reads, now it has 4 but it still hasn't posted... Anyone know what's up?

I've heard two different answers on this. The first is that whenever Laurel or whoever reads (or re-reads) the story to see if it can be posted, it counts as a view.

The second answer is that whenever you check your submission page, it counts as a view. That one doesn't make much sense to me and I may have it ass-backwards -- maybe it's something other than the main submission page, since I've never noticed my view counts going up that way. (Maybe it's only before it's posted, though. I don't know.)

Sorry this isn't more helpful, but the point is that it's not unusual at all (getting views before the story is posted, not me being unhelpful, although that might be true as well).

Whenever you click on the "pending" link, it counts as a view. Whenever you press the "submit" button, it puts the story back at the end of Laurel's list. If you click "pending" and you don't click "submit" then the story is "in preview, needs to be submitted" and Laurel can't see it at all.

You might want to resist the temptation.

I haven't clicked on anything... just went into submissions to see what the status is... I guess patience isn't one of my stronger virtues... Ok ok... I'll stay away until it posts. Thanke for the info KM. You are always so knowledgable. Nice AV btw...
