I'm having a lot of trouble lately where I start reading a story here and before I'm a page into it, it reminds me of something I have in the works or have mentally kicked around and after that I just can't concentrate on reading any more. It really kind of sucks. I never had this problem until I started writing.

I've posted similar before. I select from the title, read a bit. More often than not, I back out within a few paragraphs.

All sorts of reasons.

I feel you. For me, I think it’s easiest to read when I’m not in the middle of a WIP.

You need to read more of my stuff 😊. If that reminds you of your own ideas, seek professional help!

I used to read really good stuff here. I started writing when I started seeing fewer and fewer really good stories.

Now I find that when I read here (in a motivated fashion, if you know what I mean), I no longer want really good stuff a lot of the time. It might be because I've gotten to know some writers who I respect, and I'm not sure I necessarily want to read their stuff "with intent."

Weird.

Reading is one of my greatest joys in life, so I don't really have a problem paying attention if I'm engrossed in a story. If I find one where I like what the author did with the plot or how they structured or phrased something, I'll make a note to myself to go back to it for any potential plot bunnies/writing tips after I'm done with the whole thing.
