I'm not sure if this would be better suited for the editors' board or not. I'm not as familiar with the editors as I am with everyone here. So, I figured I'd try here first.
I queried an editor about including Lavender and Love in a charity anthology. They're interested, but would like to have the option of choosing the story as-is or a more toned-down PG-13 version. They aren't sure if they will include stories with erotic elements in them yet, or not. They have younger contributors/readers to consider. I had already been working on a revision so that people in my personal life who are bashful about erotica would still be able to read the story and the message.
I went back and forth with whether I can just change the euphemisms and go for softer language or do I need to completely remove those elements.
I've finished the revision with only hints of intimacy. I don't necessarily need an editor (I'm working on a few editors' suggestions currently), but I think I need a couple of read-throughs to check for flow, make sure the plot isn't lost, my characters don't lose any integrity, and that I haven't removed too many important elements to the story to make it acceptable to a wider audience.
Would anyone be willing to help me out?
Thanks!
