I've been reading Literotica stories for more than 15 years now and have also published few stories of my own. So it's of interest to me how others here read Literotica stories.

I usually read stories when I am horny and in the mood to jerk off. I usually never read stories any other time or place. I read stories from genres that I am interested in and mark some as favorite if I like them. I prefer some type of plot in the stories and somewhat of a slower and believable build-up, so I avoid stories that read like written porn. At the same time, I also avoid longer stories or novellas. I also like the characters having mostly average to above-average physical proportions, so stories with exaggerated breasts, dicks, volume of cum and duration of sex are an immediate turn-off. Finally, reading stories usually end with me jerking off.

From what I can tell, I'm not like a lot of guys (most guys?) ... (every other guy in the universe?) when it comes to porn. Anyway .... I'll read Literotica stories when I'm aroused, to enhance the experience - and sometimes when I'm just in the mood to get aroused. Many's the time I've actually lost the mood in my frustration in looking for a story I'll like. And sometimes I'll look for a story "for future use".

The huge challenge is finding the right stories. One can't always tell much from the description what's going to happen in the story. And some stories take a drastic turn that ruins the mood. So a lot of times I'll skim over a story trying to see if it's "suitable" for my needs without spoiling it, and bookmark it for a later time.

The best bet for me is finding an author I like and going there when I'm not in the mood to deal with dozens of stories that turn out to be what I'm NOT looking for.

As for my preferences,
- I enjoy Femdom (and wish there was a way to identify or segregate Femdom stories from the many stories in BDSM where the female is the submissive one),

I started at Lit submitting stories and didn't get to the forums until later.
